I wonder for people saying we should respect tradition. That means the killing of twins, female circumcision, and sacrifice of albinos should be continued. Thats why theres no development in Ikorodu. When demons are invoked upon a land how do you want it to grow? |

These guys are defiling their land with blood. Soon people would start wondering why progress in such communities is scarce why wouldn't it be,when innocent blood are crying to God against them. Nigeria as a country need to carry out special attornment with the blood of jesus to silence all these innocent blood,if not,we may not move forward. 2 Likes |

Hey fool! who kills twins and sacrifice albinos these days? Stop using the same colonial propaganda against our African Religions and cultures. If you dont like it here, then gerrout! The real demon is that foreign naked jewish man whom you worship as a GOD. And wat about all that money your pastors swindle from the common man? I admit that there is development there though. vislabraye: I wonder for people saying we should respect tradition. That means the killing of twins, female circumcision, and sacrifice of albinos should be continued. This is what is confusing me. Are the pro-Africans here really proud of this aspect of Yoruba culture? Killing on sight anyone that comes out during this strange procession + human sacrifice. Please Yorubas is there anyone who disagrees with this or are you all happy and prideful of this culture? If so, I can only say that the "pride vs prejudice" curse on Africans due to colonization and racism is doing a number on our sanity. 2 Likes |

I am actually non-religious. A faithless world where life is valued imo is much better than glorified superstition which has engineered the killings of innocent millions over years (I'm talking about Islam, Christianity in past days, crude paganism). The fact that adherents in these various beliefs (yourself included) are okay with this sort of thing because it typifies a "spiritual lifestyle" shows that human beings have a long way to go. It's no different from the marauding Christian crusaders in medieval times and radical islamism prevalent in many countries. Reading this thread reminded me of a conversation I witnessed between my driver (from a minority tribe) and his Yoruba friend. They were discussing the unfortunate spate of ritual killings that occur during an Oba's burial...where fresh human heads were buried with the king to signify his transition to the spiritual world with his servants. Disturbed, my driver asked his friend why this practice was still held among the Yoruba. His friend proudly shrugged him off by saying "it is our tradition." On that note, I will humor you by saying it is none of my business as you have justified it to be tradition in defence. Have a good day. PAGAN9JA: |

Why are you bringing Calabaris on a Yoruba Religious Thread? Kindly fvck off and stop wasting my time. |

How does this act involve killing of twins or any human? did you even read the write up at all? I've been to Ikorodu before. Well, my point is that certain traditions do more harm than good. Let me reiterarte that not all our customs are evil. For instance, look at the Argungun fishing festivals, Benue dance troup, Calabar annual festival to mention but a few. |
