Hogwash. There are more deaths recorded in the US by traffic accidents than in Nigeria.

Per capita?
Per number of vehicles on the roads?
Per miles/klm of motorable roads in both countries?

Since you are so sure, why not show us the figures.
First, the number of vehicles on the roads in the US, the total number of road deaths in the US, and then post same for Nigeria.

I will reserve my comments till then.

This is your typical habit of leaping into an argument before you look and think.

So quick to shout hogwash( I guess because your favorite atheist is involved? angry ), when, a minute on Google would have restrained you from this typically irrational outburst.

In gross figures alone, Nigeria ranks 3rd behind India and China ( more than 1 billion population each) in traffic deaths.

USA has 254 million registered vehicles on it's roads, while Nigeria has 7 million.
US has 808 vehicles per 1000 people, while Nigeria has 31 vehicles per 1000.

Total length of road network in the US is 6.6 million miles.
Total road network in Nigeria 38,000 kilometres.

Total traffic deaths in US is an average of 30,000 per year.
Total number of traffic deaths in Nigeria is an average of 48,000 per year according to FRSC figures from 2007.

Now, are you going to apologize to me or are you going to go into cognitive dissonance mode?

I relied on FRSC reported data for 2012 which put deaths by RTA at 4,260 total across the nation involving 10,357 vehicles. Florida alone has over 200,000 accidents per year as reported by Florida DMV.

FRSC data for 2012?
Laughable.
Nigeria has an average of 120 road deaths per day nationwide.

As per Florida DMV, 200,000 accident reports includes everything from fender benders to hitting your garage door.
Remember , you shouted the US has more traffic deaths than Nigeria.

Why is FRSC data laughable? Reported RTA deaths for 2012 is 33,561 in the US as reported by NHTSA.

First, I don't know where you got your FRSC data.
The most current FRSC data on the Internet is from 2007.
Why would you ignore those in favor of some nebulous figure that is more likely the figures for Lagos state alone?

If your figures are right, that would make Nigerian roads surely one of the safest in the world.

Most importantly though, by blindly ( as is usual). challenging me, you want to downplay my assertion that Nigerian road users rely more on prayers than on rational road safety habits when plying their roads.
The consequences of this is clearly evident in the height rate of traffic fatalities, the worst per capita in the world.

Anyone who prefers to play ostrich with this reality is a danger to himself and to a god- infested country like Nigeria.

Big big laugh.

You should be ashamed of yourself for using information from Premium Times , a local tabloid, as your trusted source for road safety figures.
Pray tell. would you use Premium Times as your source if you were commissioned by any recognized body to write a report on road safety in Nigeria?
Cognitive dissonance is a horrible affliction.

Here is an article from the economist, as an example.

http://www.economist.com/news/middle-east-and-africa/21579057-why-nigerias-roads-can-be-terrifying-time-test

And here is an important excerpt from the article:

" Road accidents are Nigeria’s third-leading cause of deaths. According to the World Health Organisation, the country has 1,042 deaths a year for every 100,000 vehicles, one of the highest rates of road fatalities in the world; the equivalent figures for the United States and Britain are 15 and 7 respectively."

Again , you seem too opaque to get the point.

Who is a more trusted source for news and and important economic and health data, Premium times or The economist?
You are more than free to make your choice.

Again, let me ask: Do you still believe that you are more likely to die of a traffic accident(as a passenger) in Nigeria , or in the US?

Premium Times quotes a FRSC report as was clearly stated in the article if you had read it. Premium Times did not claim to have generated the statistics by themselves. If you can choose to believe The Economist doing the very same thing then your a hypocrite.

You are deluded if you think drivers are more careful in the US. The saving grace is the emergency services available.

DRIVERS IN AMERICA ARE MORE EDUCATED. DRIVING TEST MUST BE PASSED BEFORE GETTING LICENSE AND THERE IS NO BRIBE WHEN CAUGHT DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE.

Accidents happen more in America because there are more drivers, cars and roads in America.

However, if we were to use percentages and factor in population sizes, I am sure that the accident situation in Nigeria will be worse

It doesn't make them more careful or rather the rash ones are still rash or else the volume of fatalities won't be there.

Of course by percentages it would seem worse but sheer volume still presents you a more gruesome picture.

Ridiculous? What I find ridiculous is a definition of atheism dt tends to twist the laws of English. Fortunately, u finally declared u were a partial agnostic (whatever that means).
Its all good. I found it quite enlightening battling with u. A lot was clarified (most of which were quite funny) but I was able to gain a better perpective into the confusion in ur minds

They are making a decision about the acceptability of homosexuality and if they can reach a consensus on acceptance, then "God" tolerates homosexuality. On the other hand, if the consensus is that homosexuality is wrong, then "God" doesn't tolerate homosexuality.

I wonder, is this the same way that they decided what to include in the "word of god" called the bible?

Is this the method they used to decide the "lordship of jesus"?

Cognitive dissonance cannot allow them to even venture that far to something so obvious.

I had hinted some time ago that this new Pope was giving hints of rebranding Christianity by basically socially re-engineering the prevailing beliefs of Christianity.

For even a person of average intelligence, this ought to highlight how the various beliefs and doctrines of Christianity had evolved over the past 2 millennia.

As we have pointed out severally, Christianity is contrived religion, a political religion that relies on political power, economic power to socially engineer the masses.

There is no word of god.
There are only words of men, the evolving and changing words of men; sometimes good men, but at the majority of times, bad, sociopathic men.

I have repeatedly said during the course of this banter dt man's interpretation of religion is very faulty. If we see truth make we talk am irrespective of who is involved.
This is not the method used to determine Jesus' lordship. He demonstrated his lordship when he walked the face of the earth.

I guess you have the correct interpretation. Nevertheless, it's not man's interpretation that is faulty, religious beliefs can be faulty because of the ignorance and prejudices of the people who created and sustain them .

Having erroneous beliefs is your prerogative, but trying to impose your beliefs on others and insisting that they are subject to your beliefs will get you nothing but scorn.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11044a.htm
"The emperor had by this time escaped from the influence of Eusebius of Nicomedia, and was under that of Hosius, to whom, as well as to St. Athanasius, may be attributed a preponderant influence in the formulation of the symbol of the First Ecumenical Council, of which the following is a literal translation:

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of all things visible and invisible; and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten of the Father, that is, of the substance [ek tes ousias] of the Father, God of God, light of light, true God of true God, begotten not made, of the same substance with the Father [homoousion to patri], through whom all things were made both in heaven and on earth; who for us men and our salvation descended, was incarnate, and was made man, suffered and rose again the third day, ascended into heaven and cometh to judge the living and the dead. And in the Holy Ghost. Those who say: There was a time when He was not, and He was not before He was begotten; and that He was made out of nothing (ex ouk onton); or who maintain that He is of another hypostasis or another substance [than the Father], or that the Son of God is created, or mutable, or subject to change, [them] the Catholic Church anathematizes.

The adhesion was general and enthusiastic. All the bishops save five declared themselves ready to subscribe to this formula, convinced that it contained the ancient faith of the Apostolic Church. The opponents were soon reduced to two, Theonas of Marmarica and Secundus of Ptolemais, who were exiled and anathematized. Arius and his writings were also branded with anathema, his books were cast into the fire, and he was exiled to Illyria. The lists of the signers have reached us in a mutilated condition, disfigured by faults of the copyists. Nevertheless, these lists may be regarded as authentic.

This type of co council referred to by Martian's link are the types of councils and synods that manufactured the entire sum of your Christian beliefs.
Do you get it now?

The name "Jesus" and the word "Christ" were formally joined together for the first time by one such councils, the Nicean Council.
