i had finished wt the Maya riggin....time for animation. i ve the draft, there would be no lip sync. Let me test and see what the hype x about with Maya in animation.

i was supposed to start this saturday but The Muses diverted me to Mon petite Belle...hopefully i will finish her before today runs out, and continue with the 'dreary' Maya.

the work might go awry and not resemble as usual but i'd still say..

Genny: Tu es Belle.

its almost three days, Hwerez the final product. Genny's portrait?

Na rigging mehnnn....this rigging thing is becoming extremely cumbersome for me.

meanwhile, i'd just cut out some teeth for her. wont model it, would simply use cutouts.

Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 6:49pm On Aug 11, 2016
undecidedHave finished rigging, no facial.....

Now for the eyes tranplanting....borrowing the fishermanz eyes (currently rendering that project).

Eyez...they r failing to align undecided

Hez rendering....costing my system 4500 frames.

Had managed to align the eyes & her clothe...now is time for my favourite fave, guess it.....Hair. In my next world i should have a salon.

Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 2:01pm On Aug 13, 2016
Phcn had resumed their madness once again....just when i have begun my favourite mode.

Oh boy...

And ma fisherman rendering x still at 1300, chai. if only i got money, would ship the rendering to farms in Finland.

Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 1:13pm On Aug 14, 2016
I groomed a wet hair. And my genny look alike x done. i ve suspended the rendering of the Fisherman until the Genny finishes rendering...
meanwhile, someone asked me how i painted the skin texture....well, i cheated some how. I skin grafted from a picture and it turned out like this, which i then mapped over her face.
Since i discovered that this is how it was done in the Game industry and all those Play station 3 xters....i ve ditched texture painting for this kinda skin grafting.

What i used for the texture.

Star power...Gennyz lookalike alone got 340 views on this thread!

Someone on ma whatsaap also ask...why do always like doing Women?
Well the ans x....They are complex to make in 3D just as they are complex in life. Making woman requires Hair simulation ( that alone x a thrill and more science than art) and also with a man or a monster u can easily hide mistakes with slabs of muscle but a female x almost like hard surface...things must be smooth. Also modeling females x gratifying. id also notice that the best works of my most revered icons like Leonardo da vinci, Raphael, Giotto, Picasso and Disney....centered around women.

But Monsters and Demons still remain ma favourite.

How do i throw d light...hmmm, am not really good at teachin. but i got the idea from the makers of Metal Gear. Search using the terms...Japanese Character designers of Metal Gear. They used Softimage by the way but same general principles applies. Apologizes that i cant teach maybe cos i never write out ma proces down or that ma brain is a sieve, or that what works comfortably in one proj might go wack in the next.
Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 11:40am On Aug 17, 2016
You folks mighst be wonderin what kept me so long from updating the final renders...well its not phcn.

I got into trouble with the International Olympic CG hair Commitee (the IOCHC). They ve taken away ma licenses as the foremost CG hair stylist becaise i failed with hair again.

Its really annoyin how u get one hair right in one piece of work, only to go bad in another...

The short story was, This Genny lookalike got a super cranky and damp hair instead, upon all d retouchin....see first colored pic.

Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 11:44am On Aug 17, 2016
So i redo her, extend the eyelashes and used curl with a scale value of 0.3 , instead of waves ( this should be for the sole understandin of Blender heads) only for it to still look bad. I ve given up.

Worst still... lightening and comp afficiandos ( Tos87 & Donemmx) grin will fight me over the lighting settings. Its not my fault tongue

Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 11:48am On Aug 17, 2016
On the viewport, the damm hair style will look good but once rendered, the demons take over. I need to go back to Hair school cry

Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 8:26pm On Aug 17, 2016
....

I ve scrapped the Hair...all of them. To hell with the Hair.

Chai, do accept my sincere apologies....i feel let down myself, had always banked on that hair thing.
Re: Kazuna Cobal'ts 3D Portfolio by Nobody: 3:14pm On Aug 18, 2016
Since She wont give me the needed satifaction with hair, i ve decides to use her 4 Lighting studies.

One of my several deficiencies in CG x lighting....had enough rebukes from ma colleagues about that but they are never quick to realize that i work alone most times, & that i am first and foremost a Character designer above all else.

I know that to push a perfect work out there, you must have all the basics attended to....No one looks at that fine model of urs, or that fine animation if the most important parts....light and passes composition....x bad.

So via out last nite, phcn was ma friend, i spent it trying all sorts of lightening systems, 4 point, 3 point bla bla....there x no joy in it. One good thing last nite was...i went back to Andrew price, i learnt how to model some primitiv rocks, a tree and a Butta.

Apart from lighting, one major deficiency that needs fixing x how to make things go moist...moist...moist.

For someone who does mostly organic stuff, its appaling that i cant create convincin moist shaders,

But thank God, i went back to Environment things, have been rusty forever n that field...Good to hear Andrew Pricez voice, its been a long while.

in this piece, i reused an older asset, the dragon and i will Christen the work...

Incubus: Annuciation of The Bald N.ude.

Anyway am doin all these cos ma major system x at work....rendering away.

I use mostly Blender...though in a forth comin work (the fisher man series) I used the combo of Maya and Blender, a first for me.

If you want to fo into CG, nowadays the softwares u choose should be d ones u r compatible with....not the ones the average persons told u to use nor the reigning one.

@nijabazaar, i will stop those negative ramblings, i will.

This Guy, i dont know what's wrong with you. Why do you keep doing all these models? They are everyday getting beautiful. Nice job Kaz. Really nice. Though i'm not a software freak, you are tempting me hard on testing out blender. The texture on that dragon is crazy not to talk about the model itself. One thing is for certain, in the coming months ahead, i'm going to pay plenty of attention to modelling and texturing even if i'm making "animating" my strong hold.

I think u should remain in that area where you are strongest. you know animation is not for the faintest of heart, since its ur major forte....kill it more.

Let me test ma self and see if i can xompletely do somethang without Blender.

i ve dedicated the remainder of this year to mostly likeness sculpts until i become the 3d sculpter equivalent of Zedoo...

Hey nice works up there.... The right hand of the lady looking up at a dragon should be smaller....(perspective/foreshortening) than the left hand clearly seen....
And for that head the torso is a bit too long....

Good job tho. Imteresting

that mistake was from ma camera positionin...i need more training in camera setting and angles.

For the physique (elongated torso), i was aiming for Mannerism. Even though the master i am copying from is Baroque tongue

Yea but a hand on the other of the body should appear generally smaller when in view from this point...
Also hence you are actually modeling, if the two hands are the same size then it shouldn't appear this way.... because this appearance shows that right hand is even bigger than the left.

Hmmmm, perhaps u right.

but a tiny, tiny, naughty bit of me still thinks x d camera angle that getz k-leg. cos d hands were mirrored before rigging. Or maybe, my feeble attempt at some sort of contra-posture x the problemgrin. I'm also suspecting that Left clavicle posturing undecided(that's what u get when u are a squalid copy cat of Corregio, u can neva outshine a master angry)

All the same, thank you wella, u are sure an observant critic...always preferable to most who would simply say 'ur work x good' and no critique.tongue

Err seen...
The problem I actually the drop of the right shoulder....try to get anyone around you to strike that pose it will help....its a few inches away than it should be...so the view from the other side makes the hand look "unhandy".
