don't punish urself for nothing. U did no wrong. If they insisted on embarasing u by forcing an envelope into but hand when u did not have money and also made them know by declining to take the envelope, u can as well embatass dem by putting an empty envelope or even put an empty paper inside. Churchrs these days have been turned into business centers so use ur brain. Any church that does not develop u spiritually with their preaching and way of life, run away.

You don't have = you don't have, but do you really not have? you might not have to drop in the offering box but you might have to give someone that's less than you it don't have to be money all the time. you might decide to go home and give a loaf of bread to your security and say Jesus Loves you and you'd have done more than all those who dropped millions in the offering box at church, there's no better way of giving to God than to win a soul.

@op.I have done this same thing several times too and was looking to read comments but not one really touched the topic.
Personally what I do is take an envelope and pray thus my father you know if I had this offering I would put it but I don't as I put this empty envelope with my faith bless me to be able to give to you next week Amen.then I put the envelope.if I get more than that money next week I put it as offering.

OP Be careful of wat u become ashamed of. U should be more scared of the Holyspirit than be ashamed of wat people can say. If u dont have an offering and its not ur fault, God knows ur mind.
Dont try that prank in the presence of the Holyspirit, it may not turn out well.
