I am sorry bro. To be honest, I hate what I have become and what Nairaland turned me to. This site is a place where good men are forged into tribalist. Both part of the divide is guilty of this, I just hope things can change for the better. The Yorubas have been insulted too much on this forum such that reserved people like us had to also join to change the narratives Caz they say blood is thicker than water.

Sorry once again bro, one love.
. Thank you my brother, let those of us who are sane, still keep our sanity, I have refused to come down to some people's level no matter the insult, some times I avoid opening some topics cos of the tribal bashing that I know will be inside. One love

A region that survived bombardment from both UK, Russian and Arab military forces for 3 years, survived Buhari’s disastrous 4 years, will not stop surviving because of political positions.

Let your ignorance not swallow you.

In Nigeria's poverty index, South-East is the lowest with 26% while Buhari’s North West is the highest with 75%, Ahmed Lawan's North East, 72%.

These figures are what should form the core of every political discourse in Nigeria but no, ignorant folks are talking about South-East not getting any position?

My town with no Senator is peaceful. You can sleep with your doors open. Can people in Buhari’s Daura do same? 46 days after a high-ranking Chief and Buhari’s ADC's in-law was kidnapped in Daura, there is no words about him. Can Ahmed Lawan sleep in his home with his doors open? Can the people in his state?

The Igbo apprentice system has created more billionaires in the last five decades than politics has for the North.

You won't survive more than me.

Like I wrote before, Buhari’s re-election is the worst thing to happen to Northern Nigeria. Isn't insecurity taking over the North despite having all the posts including security chiefs?

Political positions in a dysfunctional system only benefit the few and not the masses.

Keep ranting about the South-East.

You're right. But why is every saying Igbos played bad politics simply bcs the didn't vote APC.
I believe the Igbos should stick to PDP and wait till 2023. l don't see APC reigning after Buhari. Once PDP pick a young northern President candidate. The north will migrate.
The most dumb statement of the year. You want the North of no consequence to lord it finally over us all. They are no bride in Nigerian scheme. That's why we say igbos are full of hate and brainless set of people. Only thing they know is to steal money.

Funny enough, the White men that have brain see only Igbos as people with brain in Nigeria. You can see how your cow brain has taken us 59 years backward. Your opinion about Igbos does not matter. What matters is that we are the most blessed tribe. When we come to your village, we become landlord and make you tenants. The only thing you can do is to hate.

I have 3 properties in Lagos. Nothing gives me joy to have a Yoruba tenants. I love it when they call me their landlord right there in their father's land.

Shebi una want One Nigeria, we must have it.Keep hating Igbos and just allow us to cart away with the opportunities you are too myopic to discover.

Lol, between 2011-2015, no Yoruba is part of the first six.

President- Jonathan (SS)
VP- Sambo (NW)
Senate President- David Mark (NC)
Deputy SP - Ekweremadu (SE)
Speaker- Tambuwal (NW)
Deputy speaker - Emeka Ihedioha (SE)

Yorubas remained in the opposition and struck a deal with the north to rectify the wrongs, that’s how real men do and not some slaves that keeps begging for position without a clear way to rescue power.

Okay mr real man, how much money dey your account?

You people love latching on to others success

I don’t know you, but I’m sure I should be able to take care of your needs for 5years without stress. Everybody cannot be a politician but at least we should be able to voice out our opinion.

So find another person to prey on, coz you chose the wrong person. Peace

This is a case of entitlement mentality. Who made it anyone's birthright to have the first 6 highest political posts. Lol how did this arbitrary number come up anyway? There's a clear difference between losing and being excluded. Everyone was given opportunity to vote their choice.

1. President is elected
2. Vice President elected
3. Senate President elected by peers in senate
4. Speaker of the House elected by peers in house
5. Chief Justice appointed then confirmed
6. Deputy Senate President elected by peers in senate

Good thinking and well said.

I only talk with facts sir. I'm willing to play if you're game? I keep receipts handy. Let's see if you measure up.
The amount of time you people waste spewing nonsense on nairaland, I seriously doubt there's much successful people that post here. Prove me wrong with factual info not mouth. Again, I'm ready with receipts

A key group that put all her eggs in one basket. Politics isn't play in such manner if the key group hope to remain relevant. Politics is a game one play with so much permutations and smartness

TheBeat:

Speaker was zoned to SW but Tinubu instructed his block to go against the choice of PDP, a lady from Yoruba. Let's not turn history upside down. We are talking about a situation where a party decided to sideline a key group of the country.

Your deduction is wrong, not all South-West voted for APC. Oyo State was won by PDP and other elective position like senate and house of representatives seat have members from both major parties in all the south-west state. To me that's how politics is played so as to remain relevant whichever party wins. You don't play politics of hatred and expect a better deal. We all need to learn and move ahead

Having said that, I believe in fairness irrespective who is wrong or right. APC would have done that by zoning all the major positions to all the zones

jumobi1:
APC is basically saying next time everyone should vote APC. That’ll be the end of democracy in Nigeria.

Vote how you feel. That’s democracy. Votes shouldn’t be coerced. The same reason a substantial amount of Oyo voters voted PDP is enough reason for SE voters to vote PDP. Are you really voting for change if you’re simply voting to remain politically relevant? It’s more complex than voting to remain relevant. Vote based on your conviction.
At least you admit APC is unfair. It’s APC’s job to convince SE to vote for them. SW supports APC because APC carried them along from ACN days. If APC carried APGA along, they’ll have more SE votes. Nigeria is fully of vindictiveness and hate.

we are talking about elective offices. appointments are different things
they are not. Security appointment is central to ethnic inclusion and planning. Imagine that no Igbo man part-takes in top National defence meetings. Based on the fore going, any rules of engagement can be given to security agencies against them. Python dance comes to mind. This whole setup playing out was well planned and rehearsed but the sad thing is that sentiments won't let some people see beyond ethnicity. You can never be united by being clearly divisive.

We all rush to developed worlds when we need systems that work. Can Donald trump call any part of US 5% for not supporting his presidential bid? Can he Call the Washington DC "necessary evil" for voting opposition?, is there any other country in the world where you have different cut off marks for children into same national schools or competitions as a means of achieving "equity"- how ridiculous can we be in this country?

For me, I believe that the essence of education and exposure is to restore the dignity of man. Education should equip the educated with the ability to make rational and logical deductions from all situations at all times. Remember logic must not be truthful or correct in all cases but at least it follows some sound canons of thought.

If you are truly educated, always stand out by arguing your logic devoid of prejudice or sentiments.

I disagree with you sir. What igbos need is not positions but development. During goodluck era, igbos had almost all the juicy positions. Yet, none of them could improve the development of the region. Position are for personal enrichment sir. The fight should be about development not positions. I rest my case.

I agree no gatekeepers.
