oga,the glycemic index of those foods u mentioned are higher than sugar, but they are far more nutritious and healthier than sugar ......noodles is worse than those food u mentioned in all ramifications.dont forget noodles are highly processed WHITE fLOUR

If they have a higher glycemic index than sugar according to your, how then are they more nutritious than sugar?

Who told you sugar isn't healthy?

Anything natural is the best, that's a fact!

But I still don't know how and why people go haywire at the mention of processed foods.

Is the "white flour" not natural? I think we even need to understand the meaning of food processing to begin with.

Why don't you stay away from carbohydrates completely and feel the wrath of hypoglycemia.

Nigeria would have easily been higher up but for the fear of catching "cancer" from overloading on noodles.

Most Nigerians loves Noodles especially those group of people that are skilled in cooking noodles in its varieties with eggs, onions, and so on.

Young mum use Instant noodles to cajole their kids to get ready for school.

All these wannabe nutritionist.

Yam, rice, fufu, eba... All contain high sugar levels.

Do we now run away from them? Even too much of protein can lead to high BP, obesity etc.

The key to healthy living is moderation not abstinence from any type of food.
Bro there are some food that don’t require moderation but total abstinence except you want to run the risk believe me .

Our love for ultra-processed food knows no bound. Noodles are meant to be eaten once in a while and not like a local staple. No wonder we have an increasing number of obese people
How many of the top 10 nations have a high number of obese people with the exception of The US?

but in nigeria, young women eat it everyday

Why do you think doctors and nurses will tell you to drink a soft drink before injection if you haven't eaten?

Tell a nutritionist wey sabi to formulate a eating time table for you and they will definitely include all those "carbohydrate poison".

People have been dying of strokes, High BP and all other dietary related diseases before processed foods became a thing.

The key is moderation.

Don't runaway from carbohydrates, rather, eat them moderately just like you would any other class of food.

Mention one.

A healthy individual should never abstain from any food, they should rather eat moderately and sensibly.

Even too much of the so called healthy foods could lead one to an early grave.

They’re basically the same..one is made with soft wheat flour and the other with durum wheat flour( which is what is used for spaghetti). Spaghetti also undergoes an industrial process to make it the way it is..while ramen doesn’t. Pasta means flour.

Bro wheat is a food I can’t eat cause of its gluten content . Barley which is found in malt and beer is something I can’t eat due to its gluten content.
In the case of gluten allergies there is no such thing as moderation . What you need is abstinence except you want to risk having coeliac disease.

The glycemic index of rice is higher than that of noodles.

Bread is also made from highly processed white flour. If I gave you unprocessed flour you probably wouldn't be able to eat it.

As long as you aren't diabetic or obese you can eat them in moderation.
