This is the authentic biblical Feast of Firstfruits celebrated by true ancient Hebrews. Not the scam going on around these days.

Exodus 23:16
[16]And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.

Exodus 23:19
[19]The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

Referencing the Bakor New Yam Festival which held on the 15th of September in Cross River State, an excited celebrant had this to share on her Facebook wall...

"The aim of the New Yam Festival is to officially present the newly harvested yams to God and the ancestors of the land.

The festival is also an avenue to thank God for sustaining the lives of the farmers, the indigenes of the land and the farm product (yam) through a successful planting season.

Yam is significant to the planting and harvesting season of OGOJA people as it's regarded as miraculous plant that signifies fertility.

Happy Iyel Anfenfe!"
