Apostles are different from disciples. All followers of Christ are his Disciples but the apostles are those he gave special power and authority.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of those out there may claim to agree with Him but reject His teachings and commandments, preferring the doctrines and traditions of men to His Truth.

But then if you do not think the Apostles led the church after Christ You should read Acts 6.1And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

Clearly, these men were in leadership positions.

Apostles are disciples are followers ...we are all of us given authority to become Sons of God by Him - to do that which Jesus Christ did and more, this through submitting to and obeying His every commandment and teaching.

But Jesus Christ taught us that over those who belong to Him, that He alone is Teacher, Rabbi, Master/Head, Leader , Shepherd, etc. Recall, that the New Covenant is an agreement/contract relationship between God Himself and individuals. So Jesus Christ made Himself one and only Lord over each contract.

So whose report will you believe.... Jesus Christ/God or the author of the passage in Ephesians?

He never said he alone is teacher. if he said so, he wouldn't have called apostles and sent them out to teach. He never said he alone would do the work. in fact quite early in his ministry, he called others to work alongside him.

He wasn't talking to himself when he said. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. He didn't do the work alone he chose others to teach alongside him. He said to Peter, I would make you a fisher of men.

So you agree he called others to teach. He was not the only teacher.

Jesus Christ, again, in the Kingdom of God, is the one and only Master, Rabbi, Teacher, Shepherd etc. We are all of us, followers, His servants and nothing more.
