Check him for what? If muslims are free to wear their hijabs, then he is free as well to wear his traditional attire.

It is allowed so far other religion are allowed to wear their regalia.

Very soon, Ogun , Sango, Obatala, Oloje and other traditional worshippers will wear their own to secondary schools in Lagos since their is judicial precedence to it

Right way to deal with double standard. If a Muslim can wear hijab to school in a secular state, hijab to a "call to bar," then traditionalist should be allowed such absurdity too.

Criticisms from northern folks that I see on facebok is indicative of our difference in reasoning. It's simple "To your tent o Israel" will cure this problem.

Do you know the meaning of secularism?

I encourage him to continue. Let all his family members do same - to parties, school, officr, weddings, etc. Afterall, he now knows that the Nigerian constitution guarantees him that right. I just hope he wont get tired like his mates in Osun state the other time

I know many will come in defense of this man.

But the simple thing is, Muslims wear their hijab everywhere why should they off it because they want to go to school.

Thank you Sir. That is why you have the option of either staying at home or go to Islamic faith based schools. Why should I bend my regulations in my own intellectual property because I want to educate and upgrade your intellect?

His argument is baseless. Will Sango worshipper wear their traditional a market any day anytime? Or will a Christian lady in choir wear the rope outside of the church?

I struggle to see meaning in this. All Christian denominations as well as other religions have several apparels and practices. You cannot claim absolute rights in one breath and then in another breath, deny someone else the freedom to also adorn his apparels when and how he deems best. Life doesn't work that way!

If you want to wear the above(eeku and rope)to school, you're welcome. You'll get tired.

My tiredness and not yours. I wholly support this and encourage other forms of civil non-violent means of airing disapproval of policies that only end up dividing the people while the elite, even in the north do not actually care in reality as evidenced by dress styles of their kids during weddings. Giving such judgement at a time when the nation is reeling from the pains of terror and even when the blood of Christians slaughtered are still being mourned says a lot about our priorities as a nation.

By the way, this is lagos not Abia. This is Nigeria!

Yes if you people are comfortable in it you can wear, just the way Muslims girls are comfortable in their hijab. We Muslims don't care .
