You are right.

Not all lecturers are in support of the strike.

In fact, my very close friend, a Graduate Assistant who is also running her Masters is so angry right now because the strike has stopped her from getting ahead in her career.

But the truth is that ASUU should have read the handwriting on the wall a long time ago and see that this government is not the best government to drag their issues with.

There is a point you reach in a fight whereby even the people you are fighting for will abandon you.

ASUU is almost at the point now.
It was reported that there were a lot of arguments in the NEC meeting.
That ASUU president is too controversial, seems he's politicising the strike based on his previous comments.

I am flabbergasted about government insistence that they will not pay ASUU because of six months strike, I would have love the government to tell Nigerians that their seized salaries had been embezzled by their agents who are eating Nigerians money uncontrollably. If no work no pay is their policy, why is the same government paying NNPC refineries workers who have not done anything for the past seven and half years, they are even enjoying promotions and going for seminars overseas, or because their own children are their. Let poor Nigerians who have their children in these public universities think about what the government is doing to them.

Even the military cannot destroy ASUU.
Today naira is on a free fall to the dollar.

A professor of medicine earns less than 600 dollars per month, 600 dollars. And you want him to dedicate all his time and develop the students and the country? God have mercy on Nigerians.

If strike is the solution, then why are things getting worse despite the annual strikes?
ASUU can move from strike to coma, nothing will change as long as we don't have good leaders.

E be like say hunger don dey hol' madam lecturer backnbeta small small...?

If not, why are you now telling your fellow ASUU strikers that enough is enough after SIX months?

Why don't you wait for ONE complete year so that we can conclude that ASUU can actually strike for a WHOLE season?

I hope you've realized now that the longer you stubborn ASUU lecturers continue to strke; the more the pay you guys are going to lose following the no work, no pay policy?

So you beter warn your fellow strikers.
God forbid hunger! And don't get me wrong; the strike was and is still necessary and I hope some day the people will truly understand why the strike had to come. I just truly wish there is a better way to help the students so they won't lose too much.

What's the purpose of the strike? And is it working?
Those are the questions you should ask yourself before you say the strike is necessary.

They should vote him out immediately if that is the case.

Maybe he is so comfortable because he has other streams of income pumping money to his bank account.

Some of my colleagues who are lecturers are no longer finding the strike funny at all, if not for anything else but, primarily because of the depletion of their financial resources.

If care is not taken, ASUU will become the Public Enemy Number One now.

The tweets I read on twitter concerning ASUU and the ASUU strike shows that a lot of folks are no longer seeing reason with ASUU with regards to continuation of the strike.

This is the best for ASUU to strike a good deal and press home its demands because starting from September APC wll have to tell Nigerian electorate how much effort it has put in improving education sector and others in more than 7years of its governance.

ASUU should not back down. I suspect Ngige is using this strike to get back at Tinubu cos he knows the longer the strike, the more anger Nigerians will feel towards APC.

If ASUU should call the striker off without tangible achievement next time they won't be able to mobilize for strike. And I hope those profs are not planning to announce unpopular results for politicians during elections? They can see the attitude of the politicians they so love to please.

Is That So?

So in all your utterances ASUU is at right of holding students at ransom, because of selfish gain?

You are not ok. How is ASUU holding students to ransom. I want you to be honest with me, if you are in a government university as a science student or you know someone in any government university that is a science student, how is their laboratory? How is their hostel? But the same government is stealing money, crude oil etc abi.

Since buhari is good in borrowing, why not borrow and settle assu or better sign an agreement with them, to be honest our universities are lacking behind in basic aminities and infrastructure to meet up with the rest of the world, imagine using a tiger generator to give lectures because no power supply, or using mega phone instead of a good sound system to address students. The Assu know what they are fighting for cos I have also been there like every other student in the forum. No good roads in the campuses, that's why they send their love ones abroad. They have ACs in their offices but a professor has only a standing fan in his office, I'm happy Assu mean business this time around, enough is enough.

What are the the Universities doing with the IGR gotten from the students?...

What tangible thing have they done with it!

Yes APC is not to be supported in all ramification, but does ASUU have that authority to shutdown a whole Nation's Educational Sector just because of their selfish interest?

ASUU should pursue their demand to the end. Do you know what it takes to do research..buy reagents, publish papers at the end of the day, you get employed as a lecturer and they start paying you with less that 130,000 as a PhD holder. Demoralising those in academia. A lecturer after suffering to develop himself to get higher qualifications cannot rent a descent house, buy a good car or even wear good clothes. The truth is that if the wrong is not corrected now, in the near future, nobody will like to be a lecturer in a public university.

So in essence shutting down the Nation's Educational Sector is the way to draw the attention of the said government who don't see the need in education?

Can we reason for once without the sentiments of APC lead Government!?

Lol, who told you APC is bothered or even cares about accountability?
With the damages done in the economy and security aspects you think what they will be worried about is explaining their impact in improving education?
Another problem with ASUU that made them embark on this strike is their miscalculated idea that they can use the forthcoming election to hold the government to ransom.
Party that has already planned how to win by rigging and heavy bribery.
That's what has landed ASUU into this prolong strike with the addition of not paying their witheld salaries for the first time.

ASUU still think they are fighting, but they have no opponent. Unless they accept the students and the lecturers not in support of the strike as their opponents.

Simple question what are the various universities doing with the students intuition fees:

the only money that gets to the FG is the School Fees

So what actually are they doing with the rest of the money?

Analysis Below:

So Most Federal Schools Pay over N50,000 as Acceptance Fee (School revenue)

School fees is about 55k to 100k (only for FG)

other developmental fees accumulates to over 200k which is for the school (school revenue)

so assuming the school admitted more than 4k students

that's 250k x 4000 = 1bn

so tell me what are the schools doing with the said money?

remember old students aren't included their!!!

state facts and not sentiments of APC lead bad Government

If you know how much Federal universities generate in form of IGR with the structures Federal government put in place.
Just visit the school farm alone and see what's there in crops and livestocks.
They also use students as their labourers in guise of "farm year"

Who are using students as labourers FG or the incompetent over-lorded lecturers?

The books the students are mandated and head-bent by the lecturers to buy whose pulse does enter into...

the list is many...

Even the said lecturers teach more than two to three private universities and less regard the place government posted them, but at the end of it all FG still pays them!

Most of those fish farms you mentioned are owned by various lecturers even rearing of cows..., these are facts not coined up stories...

In my School Lecturers sends students to their various farms to work there terming it to be their project work, at the end of the day the said lecturer will still demand for extra cash from the innocent students...

Dear friend, most Nigerian lecturers are poisonous and wicked in nature...

ASUU is well know notorious thief!!!
They never do anything tangible for the school even after all said and done
