Well said!

But don't you think the ‘proliferation’ of tongues in modern gospel music should be checked hence the devil take advantage of it. Moderation is key!
The devil has already taken advantage of it brother. I don't know why some people think speaking in tongues is their family line of business and refuse to stick to correction. It's as if Satan has blinded their eyes

grin Mumu! There is no single Aramaic in the New Testament. How will u know wen u don’t read the Bible? Daniel 5:1-7
7.The king cried aloud [mightily] to bring in the enchanters or soothsayers, the Chaldeans [diviners], and the astrologers. The king said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever will read this writing and show me the interpretation of it will be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold put about his neck and will be the third ruler in the kingdom.
8 And all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or make known to the king the interpretation of it.

An Aramaic king cudnt read an Aramaic writing on the wall? His linguists cudnt either, so they had to call a man in whom is the spirit of the gods? U have to explain how suddenly everyone cudnt understand Aramaic in that room
Seriously? Daniel is New testament?

This debate about speaking in tongues should stop already.

If you hear tongues in a song, just settle in your mind that's the singer is speaking to God. Same goes for prayers.

All you need is the part in your understanding. And you're blessed.

Chikena
Sorry it doesn't work like that

NIV:Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30
NIV:Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
31
NIV:Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way. 1 Corinthians 12:29-31...
The reason why there was speaking in tongues as evidence of baptism was to shows the apostles, Jewish Christians that the Gentiles (e.g Cornelius) received the same Holy Spirit as them without having to follow the law of Moses. Study Act 15

Well, the scripture you quoted is true. But you're mixing it up. And it will appear as though we are merry-go-rounding on the same point.
The "do all speak in Tongues" here isn't referring to the speaking in Tongues as of the evidence or the prayer language of the Spirit, but the speaking in Diverse Tongues...hence, he added "do all interpret". The diverse Tongues is the tongues of men. This is the exact that the Apostles busted out in, at the day of Pentecost. Other tribes could underatdn their tongues that day. It wasn't a Prayer Language. It was a tongue of men.

I hope it's clearer now?

These are not unknown tongues, these were Aramaic languages. Please study your Bible don't just read. Mene Mene tekah upharsen was eventually interpreted, you see?
grin U are daydreaming grin
U don’t know what u talking about. It took Daniel to interpret the writing. All the rest wise men came from all around the world. If Mene Mene was a worldly language, some of them would have beat Daniel to the interpretation.

How do you think the apostles of Jesus preached in countries where they they don't understand their languages? Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 14 :18 said I thank God I speak in tongues more than all of you. How do you think he was able to speak more? Was it not because he went farther into more countries to evangelize and spake in unknown tongues the good news of Christ??

I think u need to know the essence of speaking in tongues first. The holy spirit was sent to the believers after Jesus Christ left for building up the believers first of all, for edifying the believers.
Now back to speaking in tongues, it's for ur own edification first of all.
1 cor 14 Vs 1-3 shows when u speak in tongues , u speak to God nd also u edify urself ( build up, emboldened urself). This is the primary purpose of speaking in tongues.

When Paul said he speaks in tongues more than yea all, all he's saying is the fullness of God he manifested through speaking in tongues. He was built up to the level he could function at that level.

Jude 1 Vs 20 says more about it

How does praying in the spirit equate to praying in other languages? As many as are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God. Praying in the spirit is praying under the guidance and direction of the Holy spirit. What to pray for, praying according to his will etc.

Thank God u said as many as are led by the Holy Spirit, when u speak in tongues it's the holy ghost that gives u utterance nd u are speaking to God in mystery.
The Bible even says no man will understand wat u are saying, but God hears nd understand u
