But we all know it is temporary until the case on 15th February, then we know if it would even be a longer delay.

I dont know what Tinubu supporters are really celebrating

There would be hearing on 15 of Feb, thereby aggravating the situation of those that are still hoarding old notes even when they all have enough time to deposit everything in the bank..

Tears go full GP tank that day..
Emefele won't succumb to any pressure because he has the backing of the presidency..

Oh, some of you think that they didn't know there would be pressure from different angles before they took this decision ?

THEY ARE WELL PREPARED FOR EVERYTHING THAT MIGHT SERVE AS A STUMBLING BLOCK TO THIS POLICY .

In simple terms...

Supreme court has merely and stylishly given you people hoarding old notes a special grace of 5 additional days!

Anyone holding onto old notes with the hope that the Apex court will indefinitely reverse FG and CBN's currency policy is playing Baba Ijebu with his destiny! tongue

The difficult change is upon us all... Any wise person would have made efforts to fall in line before the date of that judgment! Whichever way it tilts, you remain safe!

I think your parents still feed you at home.....because if not, if you are someone that goes out to work on a daily, you won't come out and spew this trash. You are a shitty person.

Go to banks, go to ATMS, it's not child play standing for hours without getting money to withdraw. Next time, when you are not sí sure of the situation of things, you keep your dirty mouth in your pocket.

Left to the politicians, the poor masses will suffer because we all know they have secret majority stakes in most of these banks.

Lol your education is a waste.

That judgement is straightforward. "Keep spending both old and new currency until the court give the final judgement on the matter"

Now the next hearing is 15th February, from there the next adjournment may be till March .......

“The Supreme Court has not decided the matter. All it has done is to fall back to a decision like Kotoye v. CBN, that in matters of extreme urgency, you can grant an interim order, even if it be ex parte, to prevent the subject matter of the suit being truncated. “If, for example, the Supreme Court, did not make that order, and the only order existing is that of the High Court, it means that the CBN, by 10th of this month, will stop the use of all old notes. “But what the Supreme Court has said is, ‘Just wait, let us listen to you people,’ not that it has decided that Zamfara, Kogi and Kaduna states have any valid case that is actionable because the action is already being challenged with a preliminary objection.

Meanwhile our darling daddy Buhari to meet Nigerian Elders tomorrow

The policy is wrongly managed. Must the masses be put to untold hardship because of a policy that is mismanaged? Are you not tired of the suffering? If it's not affecting you, countless millions are being affected. How many have you helped. Or you love seeing people suffering because of the incompetence of the CBN Governor?

Why is an average Nigerian a mediocre? It seems our brains are not functioning well.

These children will just look out for a news feed they barely have details of and give it a caption of their choice.

Interestingly I listened to the learned silk and for the first time I was endeared to his position.
He was actually supportive of the supreme court injunction as he opined that the policy timing is wrong.

He called the supreme court as the biggest masquerade that all levels of courts have to mute for.

The governors has succeeded already cos the supreme court ask that the status quo be maintain till when the substantive case will be decided. Hearing will comes up on the 15th before adjournment and the decision on the case which may take another time.
That's the sad thing about most Nigerians. They don't read and digest news. They just want to have an opinion.

Why is it all these politicians that are clamouring for extension if they don't have interior motives. This policy does not affect them directed if not for elections where they intend to buy votes with the money they embezzle and after winning to pick the money back from the country or state treasure purse. I pray the day remains at the actual date.
Exactly!
The bold words is the big question?
Why are they so concerned & are becoming restless? And all the politicians against this policy are majorly APC members, because they have stashed up cash to buy votes. They just prove buhari right for coming up with this policy. The restlessness on their part is worrisome & that should give Nigerians reasons to join buhari on this.

It's true the suit will be decided as from when the supreme court put their date meanwhile February 10 deadline for naira swap is automatically invalid can't hold pending when the suit instituted by the government of kogi, zamfara and Kaduna is been examined in court .

Ozekhome has not said anything new. It's an interim injunction and everyone knows that. But it effectively kills the Feb 10th deadline. Final decision will be made after both parties argue out the substantive matter on the 15th of Feb. I'm very confident the supreme court will stay on the side of the suffering masses. They're Nigerians too, they've seen the hardship this has caused the masses. The federal government has no defence other than that of jurisdiction that will definitely be dismissed.

We are all saying the same thing. The order is clear and straightforward, maintain the status quo till 15th February when we will hear the case. That is, old notes remain legal tender till 15th February. Nobody is disputing this position other than funny Peter Obi urchins who want the president to issue executive order to override the order of the Supreme Court.

What happens after Feb 10? Please tell us, can Nigerians still use the old notes, yes or no?

We know the judgment is temporary, but CBNs Feb 10 is no longer applicable, that's the point you dumb fake lawyer..

It is the same thing the lawyer said now, do you have comprehension issues?

yes the Feb 10 no more holds, but the case has not been decided. It is just an interim injuction. by Feb 15 we will know if SC will rule in favour of FG or those who wants the policy suspended altogether.

15th is day of hearing and not day of judgement.

After hearing, there maybe another day set aside which could be between 2 weeks and 4 weeks.

After that 4 weeks, if judgement is delivered in favour of Federal Government, it doesnt mean the new deadline will be effected immediately. The government will now announce a new date. This time around with human face.

We are looking at the next two months from now.

No wonder his client ,Farouk Lawan, is in prison today serving a jail term. smh.

Below is what the Supreme Court held:

In his ruling, the Justice revealed that after careful consideration of the motion exparte, this application is granted as prayed.

“An order of Interim Injunction restraining the federal government through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) or the commercial banks from suspending or determining or ending on Feb. 10, the time frame with which the now older version of the 200, 500 and 1,000 denomination of the naira may no longer be legal tender pending the hearing and determination of their motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.”

It is high time NJC sanction lawyers like him. Even AGF is now asking that the restraining order by lifted for lack of jurisdiction to hear the case by the SC
His client farouk lawan was a criminal caught on camera receiving bribe. He was arrested and jailed buy currup gej! Under ur dullard buhari, the chief whip of the Senate was jailed and released. Someone stole the red chambers mace and was rewarded with the post of the deputy Senate President. Na God go punish all of una wey de support apc
