U definitely do not deserve the job. Whenever you are going for an important appointment like interview, ur going is more important than coming back. You Shud have collected the money first, go for your interview then when coming back you can decide to fight whosoever u meet on the street. You were you own problem and you ended up shooting yourself on the leg. You were given the new #500. At least that would have brought you home comfortably, and you can sort yourself out later when you get to your area. As a man, skipping just a meal won't kill u. You were just not disciplined enough to be focused on attending the interview and avoiding distractions. The devil works in mysterious ways buh u decided to open the door to perform his wonders in your life. Better luck next time.

This is a profound statement and advice, not just for the Op, but for everyone.

This are critical times.
This is not the time to be choosing money as there is scarcity of money.

Yesterday I went to Access bank to withdraw via ATM. NO cash. Went to the Banking Hall to use withdrawal slip. They said no cash.

I then told them I want to speak with the Branch Manager cos I want to withdraw all my money.

When I met her. I told her I want to withdraw all my money.

She said no cash. I then told her I needed cash badly. The she asked me how much I wanted to withdraw. I then told her 5k. Next thing she said was

"Will you manage 100...100 Naira Note of that amount. I quickly said Yes. At this point, they had refused people from entering the Banking hall. This was around 1pm oo. People were outside angry.

Madam went into her office and brought out OLD Notes of 100 Naira. She even said I should give her time to select the clean ones and give me. She counted about 50 pieces of old N100 Note and gave me.

I collected it. Went outside the bank. Saw crowd. Past them and moved.

I used the money to enter buses and buy foodstuffs yesterday.

Moral lesson
Even Bankers are giving out Old notes to people. Nobody is rejecting old money at this time. Infact old money now is like new money at this time. Anyone who rejects old money at this time will die of chronic hunger.

I come in peace.
Chai! You wasted your time typing all this trash for an advice that is out of line.
Oga, N100 nor get old or new. Banks will never issue old 200, 500 or 1000 denominations.

So, what should he had done?
Talk is cheap for you folks.

he should've left them with the notes he was giving.

his t fare to and fro will cost him #400, he had a new #500 note that would cover it.

he didn't consider what he had to lose before engaging those guys in a brawl.

wisdom is profitable to direct.

Based on tips, I had to attend an interview today. The information was that if I am shortlisted, I will start work latest first week of March. So I was very happy and ready to do anything to attend the interview.

As an applicant without a kobo, I had to kneel down begging a neighbour before he borrowed me 1k to enable me pay my way. The transport fare to and from was to gulp N400 or more.

My in and out was just the 1k. In fact, my feeding was also inside the 1k - everything. So it was a priceless 1k that every kobo was very important.

Early in the morning, I heard people arguimg over the deadline for new naira notes. People refused to collect the old naira notes.

So I boarded a bus with the N1000 note which I paid to the conductor. My transport fare was N100. When I came down, the conductor gave me new N500 note and two old N200 notes, making it N900. I refused to collect the old N200 notes. He insisted he didnt have new naira notes to change for me. Argument ensued as I refused to collect the old notes.

Like I said, that was the only money with me. So I didnt want to take any chances of collecting old notes that I will later not be able to use. So in the midst of the argument, he wanted to move and leave, I tried to stop him by gently holding his t-shirt. I didnt know his polo shirt was that soft. Unluckily for me, the polo got torn.

That was how war was declared. The conductor and the driver descended on me. They first targeted at tearing my shirt too despite showing remorsefulness over getting his shirt torn. Not once, not twice, they kept tearing my shirt till at some point, I put a resistance. Of course that couldn't be without a fight. I won't lie, those guys dealt with me. Two agbero hands descending on one non-agbero hand. Before people could intervene, they tore my shirt and a part of my trouser, gave me serious bruises, got me so dirty and stopped me from attending the interview.

I went back home like a mad man.

A very sad day for me.

May God help and bless me with a well-paid job.

The struggle continues!!!
kinda felt you deserved this...God set job interview for you

You asked .... and got an answer. The guy said he didn't have ... tell us what you expected him to do. Seems like with the beat down and the comments here you haven't learned anything..... same is likely to happen again.

Ever since I was almost killed while being beaten by hoodlums in the dead of the night on two different occasions, I've learnt to tread carefully.

Except you have a correct pistol that you're not afraid using, and don't give a damn about the aftermath, kindly tread carefully henceforth.

The day I'll eventually get a gun, I'll make sure I kill anyone on my way, and kill myself too...

What a lie, on your way to a life changing interview, you held the cloth of a conductor. You brought calamity upon yourself. If this really happened, then you don't truly deserve the job in the first place.

You missed the point.

We are talking about old note and new note.

There is no cash in circulation. This is not the time to be choosing so u take what u can get regardless.

I could have told the Bank Manager that I don't want 100 Nairas. I wanted 1000 or 500. When she refuses, then I jump over her table and tear her bra.

I come in peace

Again, the 100 naira are legal tender and that's what banks have been paying over the counter since. If the conductor had given him 4 100 naira notes, do you think he would have complained?

The validity of old 200 naira, 500 naira and 1000 naira is in question. That is the point. Nobody would reject 100 naira notes.

Sometimes learn to apply wisdom. It will do you real good. You borrowed money to an interview and that shows you were highly determined to better your life. Now you were heading for the interview and who knows, you might get that job which will change your life for good. You allowed the devil cut short your journey when you should have at least accepted the old naira notes that way. People are still using it so I heard from my people back home. To cut long story short, learn to avoid issues. People might say you fear a lot and acted cowardly but it will do you good. Quote this message with your account details, I am sending you 10k. Pay the person you borrowed 1k back the money. Use the remaining 9k for whatever you think is necessary. But in all, next time, please act gentlemanly. People might say you are stupid, but in it lies great wisdom.

Sorry, but I'm not sure you'll be given the job because you sounds unintelligent . You should be the one to tell the conductor that our money is still valid for now, not the other way round

Dearest Nigerian Youths,

This is OUR moment. This election is not for any politician or for any tribe. A certain politician stated that in this election, "Emi Lo Kan" meaning "It is his turn". We will change the tides against this politicians with our votes and our mantra will be "Awa Lo Kan!!!" meaning "It is our turn"

We will take back our country for good.

Now tell me, is the old note still accepted in your area as of today? In my area, no body is receiving it again.

Before people could intervene, they tore my shirt and a part of my trouser, gave me serious bruises, got me so dirty and stopped me from attending the interview.

I went back home like a mad man.

A very sad day for me.

May God help and bless me with a well-paid job.

The struggle continues!!!
lol wisdom is profitable to direct.how you go dey fight with people who have nothing to loose? There's a hymn we were taught in primary school that says he who is down needs fear no fall.you dey fight with tinubu children wey be say they are already wasted.next time choose your battles wisely.

At the end of the day 900 naira change you no see, Interview you no go,job you no get, shirt torn and on top of that you still collect beating from nonentities and you Will still need to spend money on your health.

I am sure you have learnt a fundamental lesson now

1.always weigh your options of winning before going into a fight
2.choose your battles wisely
3.leave low level/street fights for nonentities and agberos.theyre born in the streets in dirts, eat in filth, live in the streets and will obviously die in the streets so how Can you stoop so low to engage with dregs of the earth
4.physical/street combat is the lowest form of fight with no rules and benefits so it's often guirella. Therefore if you must fight make sure it's not physical.fight for something worthwhile e.g money,a good woman,a good life and your children

OP sorry for the experience... just try and treat yourself and font think about it too much...

Kindly call the company for reschedule explaining you had an accident... then lastly... probably once a week... try to they learn Self defence tactics... it will help you some day...

stop encouraging him to fight with riffraffs by telling him to learn self defence.it doesn't end well and mind you defence doesn't necessarily work with riffraffs because many of them keep diabolical stuffs on their pockets which they can hit him with.i have seen that happen a lot of times especially in places like agege, mushin, oshodi, bariga, badira etc
