That wasn't a plea bargain. It was a civil forfeiture.

For plea bargain, you must have pleaded guilty for a crime.

Tinubu doesn't even have an arrest on his record let alone a guilty conviction.

what if someone transferred money into your account without your knowledge and it's drug money.. The only way the government can get the money from you is by a forfeiture by a court order, what if i have a friend who does not have an account in the USA and he claimed someone want to pay him money for a service or purchase and he needs a USA account you provide your account and the money was deposited, you didn't touch it only to find out it was drug money.. The only way the government to get the money is to find out is you are involved in the drug trade if you not.. The law same with Nigeria law with the USA is for the court to order a forfeiture the money that does not make you a criminal.
TO me tinubu adversaries are not knowledgeable enough. What they should have gone after is not the money or forfeiture but transcripts of what really led to the forfeiture...
This man has been a Senator, A governor now a President elect and President in few weeks time now all this while none of them tried to find out what really happened but wasting our time online and lawyers smiling away with millions from court.
Find out what really happened if he is innocent leave him alone abeg the country has spoken.. If he is not then bring ur facts out in court.. Let's move forward abeg.. Not all this nonsense issues of a case that have been thrashed 2 decades ago.. Are the people paying this lawyers not smart at all.. Don't they ask questions?
Stop this joke. Nobody mistakenly transferred money to Tinubu's account. They were friends in the same business.
It is easy to get the name of the depositor and the account's name used and the relationship between the duo.

The was a criminal settlement. if u plead guilty snd go for a settlement there won't be a need for conviction.

I really appreciate our back and forth with no element of abuse so far. Kudos brethren.
Back to the subject matter, with your argument, you'd realise that there is no case here then, because what the law opines and zeros down on is to bar previously convicted felons from public office. If there was no criminal conviction then there is no case

He only want the Court to disqualify tinubu and court should order fresh election. He didn't claim he won the election as stated before he went to court. This case of drug have been tested in the courts doing obasanjo regime tinubu won upon being opposition to the government . Talk less of when is now awaiting gcfr.

Nobody anywhere would allow such huge amount of money be paid into his account without asking for, or knowing the source of the money, even in the 1950s. Tinubu was supposed to know more about that because he claims he worked as an Accountant in America then. Don't lie anymore, as you did in the bolded above.

Civil forfeiture in the United States, also called civil asset forfeiture or civil judicial forfeiture,[1] is a process in which law enforcement officers take assets from people who are suspected of involvement with crime or illegal activity without necessarily charging the owners with wrongdoing. While civil procedure, as opposed to criminal procedure, generally involves a dispute between two private citizens, civil forfeiture involves a dispute between law enforcement and property such as a pile of cash or a house or a boat, such that the thing is suspected of being involved in a crime. To get back the seized property, owners must prove it was not involved in criminal activity. Sometimes it can mean a threat to seize property as well as the act of seizure itself.[2] Civil forfeiture is not considered to be an example of a criminal justice financial obligation.

Proponents see civil forfeiture as a powerful tool to thwart criminal organizations involved in the illegal drug trade, with $12 billion annual profits,[3] since it allows authorities to seize cash and other assets from suspected narcotics traffickers. They also argue that it is an efficient method since it allows law enforcement agencies to use these seized proceeds to further battle illegal activity, that is, directly converting value obtained for law enforcement purposes by harming suspected criminals economically while helping law enforcement financially.

No 1: We don't know the exact reference that was made in that regard.
No2: they asked FBI not Chicago police department. The records of Tinubu's drug "criminal" case is with the Chicago police department. the FBI is a federal institution but the police department is a state institution.

So, this your attachment proves nothing.
The courts documents are verifiable so APC can't say they are fake. If anything, it's this thing you put that is fake.

Tinubu is a drug dealer. The FBI/DOJ doesn't get these things wrong. The troubling thing is that they didn't charge him. Seems like they had a pretty good case seeing the money was in his account. Makes me wonder what else he gave up or is still giving up in exchange for that to happen. His story of how he came to get that money is mind numbing incoherent.

People's defense of him esp. in this thread is part in parcel of why Nigeria is the way it is. Just be honest and say, "I don't care what he did, I want him to be President for <insert reasons here>."
