When you calculate it per capita, which is what really matter, you will notice that poverty is far less in the SE

Just imagine the rubbish they're using. North have a very large land mass that contains nobody, while people are choked up up East. How do you now use per mile to do such statistics?

I never said the stat is wrong, I only said you don't understand the stat. The stat is very accurate but it is only relating poverty to land size.
On the other hand, when you relate poverty to population size, the SE is the least poor.

I am from the SouthEast and I can confidently tell you that this statistics is VERY CORRECT. However this does not mean that SE is the poorest region in Nigeria, it's just a reflection or how small SE is by landmass.
The figure is obtained by dividing the total number of poor people by the total landmass.
SE is by far the smallest region in Nigeria, I attached a map for clarity. One state in the North is bigger than all five states in the SE combined

For example if you run this same analysis by state then Lagos state will emerge the State with the highest number of poor people per square mile. This is because Lagos state is the smallest state in Nigeria by landmass and yet one of the most populated state.

Unbelievable that some people are still at war to make the smallest region in Nigeria a Country… you need to educate your people about this bad idea… let them embrace peace ASAP.

South East has the lowest geographic area which means the population density will be highest. The higher the population, the higher the number of poor/rich people.
That's the reason why the NE has the lowest poor people per square mile, because there's greater landmass and lower number of people distributed within that land mass.

Study may be misleading and erroneously interpreted.
It could well be a reflection of high population density in the region.

In 8 years, Nigeria was made poverty capital of the world by Buhari/APC.
The SE angle of the story here was meant to draw more attention to the story. But some Islamists of Nigeria took the story to mean SE has more poor people than other regions in Nigeria.

Haven't see a berger from that region in other region before

Porverty per square mile? That means the larger the land, the less poor you are!

In that case, the North would come out richest since they have 70% of the land mass
