Read Acts 5:1-11.

The story of Ananias and Sapphira continues to befuddle me. Who/what killed them; was it GOD or Peter, or the authority of the church?

Why were they instantly killed considering it's a dispensation of Grace after Christ has died and resurrected, not in Old Testament? People have done worse in the church than the family did, why haven't they been smitten?

When Ananias was smitten to death, he was buried. How could a man be buried without the knowledge of his wife [and his relatives]?

When the wife came, not knowing that her husband had died and buried, she too lied about the proceeds from the land they had sold. She too fell and died!

And why did the apostles, seeing what had happened to Ananias, repeat the same question to the wife? Were they expecting her to lie too so she would die just as her husband?

You saw a woman who just lost her husband, there was no expression of condolences. Instead the interest was on determining if what they submitted was the true price of the land they had sold?

I AM OPEN TO GETTING BETTER EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT ON THIS STORY.

Can someone educate me on these strange points? I am open to learning and increasing my faith...
