Now this is getting ludicrous. I now realize you have a “trade” mentality. To you, the only thing that has economic benefits is what directly makes money! My mistake! LOL.
I did not define what economic benefits is or are

You can't define it to your idea also

It has a standard definition

Nothing wrong with coastal road
But look at Obi's argument
About 70 percent of Nigeria roads are deadtrap
Making it easy for terrorists attacks on travellers and also road mishaps
Fix existing ones first
Then you can do whatever
It's like Reno mumu challenge
You have schools that their roofs are leaking
Children with no learning tools
You leave it and start doing new schools for records
Which kind MUMU is that.

Point is without 3rd mainland bridge these places won't develop?

You can get to these places without 3rd mainland bridge

3rd mainland bridge is a feel good projects meant for comfort

But does it have economic benefits... No

The institutions and facilities named would have a hard and delayed time in developing at the pace it did without THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE.The bridge opened up the previous uninhabited places around it and fasttracked the development. Because people now moved enmass around the corridor, house development rose up, market quickly emerged, shops and offices quickly emerged too and many other things. Sometimes, i shudder at the mindset, IQ and literacy of our youth nowadays because of the way they see realities going on around them.
Those undeveloped vegetative/green density you see in your village/town/city outskirt are right that way because attractive developmental projects hasn't been linked to them. it's like that for decades but let a reasonable government throw in one or two grand projects and see the places races up in development. Ibeju LEKKI (even the entire LEKKI peninsula)was a wilderness of pockets of villages before the fourth republic but now, LEKKI IS ONE OF THE MOST TALKED ABOUT AREAS IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY AND JUST FIND A TIME TO VISIT IBEJU LEKKI TO SEE NUMEROUS TRANSFORMATIONAL PROJECTS ONGOING THERE.
DON'T LET POLITICAL DIFFERENCE MAKE YOU LOOK DUMB AND STVPID.

According to your own example of economic benefits, the following items stand out:
Lower costs, Profits, Net income, GDP growth…Are you saying you can’t see how a bridge could impact any of the above parameters?

Let us use a transporter for an illustration.
If a bridge shortens the distance from A to B, then it saves fuel and thus lower costs which means more profits. It also saves time enough for him to make more trips and earn more income. With more income over time he pays more taxes to the same Government that built the bridge! And when you aggregate a lot of transporters using the bridge then we see significant impact on GDP. You should get the drift now.

For the transporter yes... But for FG the builder it offers zero economic benefits... It's a feel good projects... Just like cocoa house, second niger bridge

They are bad to build in a collapsing economy

Rubbish reply. The east west road connects lagos and all Niger Delta states. The new costal Road does the same except it has railways. Now common sense dictates you complete the east west road before embarking on a new road. The east west road is not completed, the portion done are in bad shape yet you start a new road
Present government wants a standard and fast road from Lagos to calabar, the present east west road will be difficult to upgrade to a fast and super highway because it is not straight in order to connect to many towns and cities.
Also, there will be a lot of demolitions if east west road will be upgraded to super highway.
I resided in calabar before and now in Rivers State, we spend and waste a lot of time to travel to South West.
With super highway, the journey will be smooth and fast.
Present government has not stopped work on the present east west road
Do you know there was old Lagos Ibadan road that enters different towns before reaching lbadan from Lagos but it wastes time and longer, the new express way is shorter and faster.
Government is going to recoup the money spent on the road back through toll and anyone that can't pay toll can follow the existing East West road.
Stop your mediocre thinking towards development

Your position is absurd.

If you agree it has economic benefits for the transporters but none for the FG then your macroeconomics sucks. Any government project that enhances the income generating capacity of its citizens has economic benefits.

Kindest regards.

Don't you think that the affected businesses can easily relocate to another beach side or shift base after the area needed for road is marked?

Is demolition of business premises means the end of such business?

Though I would have prefer government use this money to fund electricity generation but since the contract has already being awarded, we dont have choice than to hope for its success.

You mean they will go do displace other like businesses in other beaches? A man business create affiliate businesses. This is what nations want. Businesses that will birth other businesses.

For instance.

Coca cola has more indirect employees and businesses than itself. If they close down. Those businesses will not dislodge the business created by Fanta.

Shifting base is not a big deal as far as business is concerned, so, I am still wondering how that will lead to unemployment. If business leave a particular location and lose its current employees(who could not follow), it will employ another set wherever it relocate to.

Or what do you think?

Shifting base like a computer center moving from one shop to another?

Only small businesses do this.

Again, I don't really expect someone that's still eating "mummy thank you" like your deluded self to understand anything about a business or its valuation. I don't have to tell you a beachfront property is of VERY HIGH VALUE do I ?.. low sperm count alodo.

A simple analogy, hoping your ewedu infested brains can comprehend. There's an hypothetical pos stand (kiosk) at a junction who's value is put at over 1million naira. Now, to an olodo like you, the POS business can not be worth more than 250k (because to your mumu brain, the POS machine can not be worth more than 60k & the kiosk can not be worth more than 200k) forgetting the value of a business encompasses both its tangible & intangible assets & Factors like inflation, profitability, past & projected income are variables considered. I'm no expert in the field of investment valuation but own & run various businesses, so I have a minimal idea. That's why I insist you haven't run or own a business in your miserable life. You're still eating "mummy thank you ma".

A simple & unsolicited advice for you, "a wicked spirit & a hate filled heart kills a young & perhaps healthy body".. heed, so you don't die young.

Oya, go & do your house chores before your mummy gets home.. anu Ohia chineke burun onu..

IPIGSRSHALLOW:

Very funny coming from a zero IQ, shallow brain jelly fish.
Just because he claims that his investment is worth 200 and the govt has not denied that, doesn't mean they agree with it.
I can claim that my house is worth a billion, it will only be contested and investigated should I need to get compensation from an insurance company, the govt or if I try to sell. That's when a property evaluator will be employed to ascertain my claims.
The Nigerian educational system has unfortunately produced some of the dumbest animals on the face of planet such as you. So shallow, unable to apply simply logic and common sense. Do you really need someone to explain that to you? I bet my 6 year old is smarter than olodo like you.
Do you really expect the govt or anyone to dispute his claim? For what reason? That will only come into play should there be a need for compensation, but there's is none because he does not own the beach.

BTW, without the beach, his investment is even worth less than 20 Million because the main attraction for his business is the beach which he does not own. Get that simple primary school logic into your empty mkpuru mirri destroyed skull.

STFU and get lost.
