I know for a fact having an online presence shouldn't require "Maserati Expenditures" First discover your niche and build off of that. That's what I intend doing. When you told him that you only made Siony have a mental picture of all his templates and in his short sighted judgement he thought this was an issue of installing wordpress and putting up a "wow" looking template that you'll see and just get so wowed. Easy 50k for Siony. No Siony I'm not a mind reader. Do you know the bad part about template webmasters? They will take a crap in their pants when a customer says..."this site is okay o but I want this like this.....". O ti pari! work don finish, how on earth will he know how to add what you want. This is very clear on the blog Siony created for this case. The first layout and template was totally different from the second layout and template used after the revision. So its a case of trial by error with templates. To think Siony talked about going throught a lot of pains and effort to develop that site, its a .... I dunno.

I dont blame you Varies for the budget you chose. I think sometimes clients need to be shown why they are spending the amount they are spending on a project.

So Varies, the only coat you actually cut according to your size was the budget coat. You should cut your budget according to your size and also cut your expectations according to your budget.

The fact that wordpress and joomla are open source softwares, doesnt mean you can just get 'clean perfect interface' like those of the three sites you mentioned. Unless you want to go with predesigned templates(which you clearly dont want).

If one has a Golf 1 that is working perfectly but wants the power of a Tuareg enging and the head lights of a Passat 2010 model, he still has to pay the full price of those two items not withstanding the fact that the Golf 1 probably didnt cost up to the amount of the Tuareg engine.

You say you see a lot of cool fashion projects on Wordpress but thats probably because the owners, though they are using an open source platform, have spent time and resources to customize their website and make it stand out for you to fall in love with them.
