Well, I have not understood the question (my translator is not faithful today Lol)
African culture has left a great legacy in South America, particularly Brazil, which is a neighboring country Uruguay.
Mainly in Bahía de todos los Santos (San Salvador), the yoruba kitchen left a deep imprint . Preparations of fish (Moqueca) vatapà, Amala, acarajé, feixoada (a dish made with pork and black beans) topped a long list of delicacies, most of them made with palm oil.
In times of slavery, Yoruba women was highly coveted as a cook, to the extent that, cooking and selling meals most of these women managed to buy his freedom and then of their husbands.
Often the various issues are intertwined, in this case the culinary and historical.
I hope my comments serve as a cultural contribution.
Best wishes!

OMG!!! you are making me HUNGRY!! grin grin I agree we do have the best food in the caribbean. smiley

I read somewhere that Nigeria has it's own "beef patty"...

i think its called "meat pie". smiley

Is it any good? cheesy I want to try one!

anonymous6:

Well mostly Central American, Cuban, Puerto Rican and Dominican.
We LITERALLY eat the same foods we just name them and prepare them differently
for example cod fish is a delicacy in all Caribbean islands and in spanish speaking
islands its called bacalao.

The African influence on Caribbean food is obvious in our stews and soups.
They usually have a LOT of meat!! cheesy Good stuff!!

Here is a picture of Puerto Rican Bacalao stew (bacalao = cod fish)

I LOOOOOOVE cod fish!!! cheesy
