Flashaldrin: what more can I say than, "well, well, well!" you call me your bestie, yet you are unavailable for me to tell. do you care to check up on me if I fell? all these while, I felt you had bid me farewell! these words of yours are like a bombshell feels like i am hit with a dumbbell is this really you? i must be in a trance or a spell good to hear from you again though, i must yell! |

STRIKE At the height of negligence Or as the taste buds rise Points are drawn to the table Whether or not they be negotiable Else, they will strike It is not a new thing It is another song they must sing Even if the shoots will die No one cares a hoot for our cry For they must strike No more shall the chalk grow shorter As the pen ceases to flow further Lectures are ground to a still This has been their last skill Alas! It is a strike ASUU, NASU, SSANU and the FG Reel out the dosage to us- refugees For days, weeks or even months Until we are scourged with burns Never mind, just a strike To the finalists, what a delay To the freshers, what a decay To the FG, what a relay To the proposers, you must obey Else, they strike Culled from my collection 'Arcanious Poem' Yujin DublEO 1 Like |

You say you are African, But you bear the names of the British and Americans. Your fake hair looks fetish and is brazilian, Or probably gotten from a monk's temple in India. Your face is like an artist's canvas, A colourful fracas. Yet you claim to be African. You have no regards for your brothers You are fed and stringed by the voices of aliens Using ethnic and lainguistic differences to instigate pogroms, infanticides and murders. How quick you forget when you were once trade partners Exchanging commodities across the nile through barter I doubt you are African Because if you are, how come you glorify alien gods? Whatever happened to Ifa, Sango and Horus? Of course, The new religions gave you an escape route for your vices, That's why swearing by Ofo would never suffice. They said your gods are evil, Their shrines you have destroyed and levelled. But in their museums, the artefacts you pay view. Who is the greater devil? I doubt you are African. 2 Likes |

Though i don't really write poems, i just wanted to write one for the guy that does makes me laugh everyday. DEDICATED TO BIN GBAGBO Going through everyday life, You always make me laugh. Even when i'm surrounded with thorns, And sometimes filled with sorrow. You do bring smile to my cheeky face, And brighten up my day. Oh, how can i forget, those names you usually call them. Bush pig, your usual trademark, You are always on mark, And then you dazzle them all, When you bring them the king of all RAMATU. Oh Polycrap, I can't forget you, Your face looks definitely like a crap. Though you stand tall and high, You are still a Polycrap. No matter how much they try, They will always be a crap. Oh Ramatu, come and continue, I will patiently wait for you. Though you brighten up my day, But still remember, You will always be, A BUSH-PIG. #just finish rambling, running off before bin-gbagbo gets here# #exits the thread with azonto style.... dancing azonto# 1 Like |

Do you know? I guess not... Until you do... I shall wait for you. Even silently. I am no coward. I'll let lesser mortals flit Let them zip dizzy Dizzy-dizzy orbits Round you... Do you know? Oh, you will. I assure you. T'will be... The one Who looks on Who... Loves you... Silently. 1 Like |

I may call myself a writer But using words to describe you is like going through fire. I feel burning sensations, Emotions and protestations wrapped in confusion Being with U̶̲̥̅̊ is gonna cause some trouble I the clouds are gathering momentum But through all the rumble, If i stay through, we won't stumble. U̶̲̥̅̊ were like a peal lost in the sand A rose waiting to be picked from the ash, But we are all to blind, chasing thrash I'm glad I got you instead of cash |

2go There's one fact we all know/ About the social evil called 2go/ Is that never let the app/ Attract so much attention from your Nokia, Blackberry or Samsung tab/ Or just leave it alone/ And dont put it on your phone/ 90% of Nigerian Juveniles/ Have it as one of their files/ They chat, type and flirt/ Until their fingers hurt/ Months back,we all saw with our eyes/ How a certain girl was raped by a group of guys/ They add, share and send/ All sort of pics, till it becomes addictive at the end/ Till they turn dumb and/ Daft with all the pathetic abbrievations and short hand/ We know it gives them the sense/ Of socialising and keeps them close to friends/ Each time the house gets boring/ They open it and log in/ But have you ever paused/ To review what disaster it has caused/ To sit and listen/ To how shallow the young ones now reason/ It kills dexterity and the ability/ To be creative and subsides the brain's agility/ It turns the smart to a blockhead/ And corrupts the innocent instead/ They waste away their youthful age/ Chatting away crap and garbage/ Before this monster was brought/ They used to read alot/ They used the school libraries and read and read and read/ Have you forgetten 'NO Longer at Ease and 'Sinzwe Banzi is Dead'/ They had shelves that glitter/ With books like 'Eze Goes to School' plus 'Chike and the River'/ We never took classes for a fluke/ When exams came, you hardly see us without a book/ We read plays and tales of all sort/ Tortoise and kings and the number of wives they got/ 'Hamlet' and 'Tess of the Dubervilles' our study rooms had/ 'Joys of 'Motherhood' and 'The Bottled Leopard'/ We also read 'Robinson Crusoe' ,then 'Abiku' was the poem/ What about Soyinka's 'Lion and the Jewel/ We read of 'Doctor Faustus' and Chinua's 'Arrow of God' was a treasure/ J.P Clark, Elechi Amadi educated, plus reading plays from Ola Rotimi was too much pleasure/ Haba !! Did you forget Obasanjo's 'My Command' ah!/ Back then in SS1 we all loved Gabriel Okara/ The younger read 'Ali and Simbi'/ 'Jack and Jill' got us singing - simply/ We read about Abgo and Wakama/ 'Violence', 'West African Verse','Without a Silver spoon' and 'Anthills of the Savannah'/ 'Lamb Tales from Shakespear' was bought by a few/ But what lovely books back then we knew/ But it's so late, so start/ By deleting your 2go chat/ And use the space it took/ And install an e-book/ Download books, books, books, from pdfs to quotes from Aristotle/ You can get help from Amazon or google/ At first your peers will laugh at you/ But then give them a month or two/ They'll come back to seek/ How you managed to get to the peak/ They'll be so pained/ At the mass of knowlege they should have gained/ They'll see the darkness they've been in/ Having 2go on their phone sreen/ 1 Like |

I never knew your worth up until now I never bothered to appreciate your existence I was busy chasing the wind I was busy chasing a lie I was busy with the devil I was busy playing the kid I refused to grow I refused to look the right way All I wanted was the fantasy I would never have All I wanted was a reason to love, Despite my strong will against love. Even though in the midst of my foolishness, My pride remained intact & I thank God! I still bother what would have become of me if I had fallen completely Would I still have the might to face this ground? Would I still have a voice to speak? Would I still retain that which men seek? I am glad for true friends I am glad for friends who drew my ears I am glad I can now see you clearly "Oh what a good man you are!" I am not saying this so we can rekindle love But even if we don't, at least I know I was the first to proclaim on nl "You are a good man!" Good men are rare And I would definitely not be the last to let you know. You are a true meaning of God's initial plan with Adam Our ways might never cross paths again But the little occurrence is sufficient I have been bad, you bypassed that I have been naive, you were patient I have been mean, you were composed I have hurt you severally, you were hopeful Men are known to be callous Men are known to be mischievous Men are known to hunt Mehn, you are the epitome of a real man I don't love you just yet The reality is that, I might never do But I hope I will! Or at least be you best friend. You are my rock! Dedicated to High_chief |

i dont know if i am violating the rules of this thread but i av a long time crush on someone here on NL, and i am dedicating dis poem to her and even more to come subsequently, its no other person than Rokiatu ADDICTION They say methol has a strong hold on those whom cigarettes are sold i had fiddle with one once or maybe twice? memories of youthful exuberance what is this that has made me a slave to your profile? a stronger strong hold than methol? the exuberance of my youth has exhausted thus, i cannot blame dis on adrenaline i have clicked on "Rokiatu" again this is my millionth time i know i would do it again, again and again just to see her pose i dont care if my thoughts are publicly expose |
