are you saying they use their wrapper as toilet paper to wipe their butts?

Not in my own part of Yorubaland plz.

Unless you mean after washing their hands they wipe them dry on the wrapper instead of using a paper towel or napkin.

Public breastfeeding is subject to debate.

Some people dont mind it while others do. However, better for the baby to be breastfed in public than for it to scream people's ears out.

imo, breastfeeding is a lesser "evil" compared to that.

seriously, I dont get it.

Are you talking about handwashing? That's the next thing that should be done after peeing, as far as I know.

Or do you mean cleaning the area after doing the #1(peeing)? If they're not wiping, wouldnt there be a visible stain on the wrapper?

Though it might not be widely accepted, with people claiming it to be unhealthy or whatever, I'm not a big fan of breast feeding. If and when I get married, my wife has a child, I'd say a big NO to breast feeding; let alone breast feeding in public -- disgusting.

you do know breastfeeding reduces chances of food contamination, right?

I agree a lot of Nigerian women  think nothing of breastfeeding in public, but the ones who are exposed know they're supposed to cover the breast while doing so.

However, no need to expose a baby to food borne illnesses in the name of being disgusted by breastfeeding.

Though some women prefer not to breastfeed sha.

but they wear pant nah?

Thats why I dont understand what you're saying.

You know the old "bloomers" people used to wear back in the day? Thats what some of these women even wear as underwear. Bloomers or granny panties. So its not like they're pantless under the wrapper. Urine has a pretty strong smell too, which most are aware of.

And girls in shorts, leggings or miniskirts can do the same thing, regardless of race or nationality. The problem is if there's a leakage after peeing. There isnt supposed to be though of course people should still wipe afterwards just to be sure.

Bloomers:

@TheSeeker, I would suggest you seek before you decide, you may not be doing your child any good by denying him his right to healthy life. Breast feeding for the first 6 months is very important and should continue for up to 2 years. You do not have to do it in public though, some companies now have dedicated rooms for nursing mothers. Permit my language, if you really want to stay away from all disgusting things maybe you should not make the baby because part of the act could be "dirty" too.

Are u sure those women wear bloomer or underwear because u will see dem packin the packin in btw thier thighs after the act oo . anywayz I just dont like it.

Well for me I will try and breastfeed for 3mths or 6,I really wish i wont at all bt I heard it make the baby healthy.
Re: Osun -- State Of The Living Spring! Identify Here by Remii(m): 3:20am On Jul 24, 2009
@amosexy & tpia,

If your baby had running nose and the poor child is choking if you did not have anything to suck out the catarrh, you can not clean it with cloth or tissue paper because the nose is too tender, would you use your mouth to suck out the catarrh the way African mothers do or let the baby choke to death.

I've seen people urinating in public in lagos before though I have no idea what tribe the urinators were from.

However, how do you think the women cope during menstruation?

and yes, some Naija women use bloomers- especially the older generation. The younger ones wear modern flimsier versions.

I'll still clean it with cloth or tissue paper even if the nose is tender. The baby wont choke to death. wink I'll apply Robb or mentholatum too.

However, those who can suck, should suck.  cheesy

At gunpoint is another story of course.

Tpia, you will dip tissue paper or cloth in to the nose of tender baby to pull catarrh from the head? even if the pain would kill the baby you carried for 9mtns and pushed out with severe pain, he he he, keep this post and reply when the baby arrives.

at the risk of sounding gross, catarrh is viscous. No need to insert anything into the baby's nose per se.

and who says sucking it out orally also wont pain the baby?

anyway, mentholatum takes care of all catarrh.

@Remii It's all fallacy that if you don't breast feed then you're likely not to be healthy. My brothers, my sister and myself never got breast fed and tell you what, we're healthier than folks who were breast fed. The last time I fell ill was 2 years from now and still counting. None of us -- myself especially --ever had health complications. My only illness is headache and that's like once in 3 years. It runs in the blood men, it ain't about breast milk.
Re: Osun -- State Of The Living Spring! Identify Here by Remii(m): 3:36am On Jul 24, 2009
Tpia, my sister Mentholatum is strong and harmfull even to adult, have you forgotten people shed tears after applying it, just say till then you would decide and lets move on,

by the way I missed your pix last time can you flash it again now.

i guess if u marry a wife who shares ur opinion about it then it's up to u i guess. but breastfeeding should definitely be encouraged.

There is nothing fallacious about nature every mammals breast feeds. I am a student of science and read that colostrum discharge from breast in the first few days is reach in protein and give foundation  for life. Your case may have been compensated for by given those essential mineral in drugs. I would not like to derail the trend sha, but do not stop your wife from breast feeding.

I didn't say it's fallacious to breast feed, I merely stated it's a misjudgment to say without it you won't be healthy. Of course breast feeding is good, but I don't believe without it a kid won't be healthy. Your scientific assay is very right.

Because my dad didn't like it either and -- oh well --- it paid off for him. Breast feeding should be encouraged for those who wants to do it but are having doubts.
