@ borderline,
Congrats on the success of your re-installation. I'm glad you heeded my advice to retrack the arc and see what goodies you now have on your laps!

I am currently recieving paksat 1 on my motorised 2.4m COMSTAR. Remember I posted nickolodeon junior frequency in season three in which I encouraged members with kids to tune in? However I noticed that the signal quality is fluctuating between 54 and 56% in clear weather. Since mine is a 3-in-1 lnb setup, with both c-bands in offset position, it then means that the effective surface area
of the dish covered by either of the c-band lnbs is roughly 1.8m which will be the same as if you're using a 1.8m prime focus with the c-band lnb in the middle. Bottomline, you should be able to recieve paksat 1 on your 1.8m. Just use MTV pakistan tp to track: 4031 H, 3248 SR.

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by borderline(m): 9:05pm On Oct 11, 2009
@okenze 2M NATIONAL usd 2 b d most reliable on EW6 until recently.In any case,ur 60cm wont shoot down dat sat,&as 4 which bird is more english speakin of d two in question,sirius4 has d edge at d moment .ew3a is mainly french speakin but this things arn't permanent. channels come &go on birds at various times,so u cant b so sure english speakin channels wil remain there, but u wil be better off wit a motorisd dish so dat when these chanels change birds,u can always move with them.enjoy your 60cm in d meantime

To Oga Moderator,

Happy birthday. May all ur wishes that are good come true and remember they say life begins at 40 so get ready for round 2 of being alive and I bet u are going to have a lot of fun living it.

Most of all always thank God for keeping u.

@George D.

Thanks for ur efforts last week in nailing Sirius 4.

@All I pray this new working week will bring us all new fortune and new discoveries.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by obijack: 9:44am On Oct 12, 2009
You can get a 1.8m dish (pan) for around 12K. And 2.4m STRONG pan for around 17K. Since you want to motorize the dish, then you will also need a regular 24 inches jack (3k to 4K) and a positioner (3k). Then of course 1 roll of RG6 satellite cable (900 naira or 1k).

@ George D,

I stay in Ogudu, Lagos and I want to get  a 2.4m dish for Nilesat so I can recieve MBC channels. Please kindly give me an idea of the prices of other things I will need(like the  C bannd LNB) apart from the dish and cable.

Also, I want to use multple LNBs on it but I don't want it motorised.

Thanks.

@moderator,
happy b/day, wishing you long life and prosperous hunting.
@ George D/all
Im not regular on Sirius 4, but two weeks ago when I did blind scan, down afternoon, I gunned down  Isreali channel-encrypted, and one Future TV showing a match.
I equally B/scan W3a and I intercepted a feed TANDBERG SERVICE from S/Africa. Its an SABC sport feed. The freq and s/r i promise the house by tomorow.
I was able to get this tp only on last two sundays at about 3pm.

Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by GeorgeD1(m): 10:55am On Oct 12, 2009
@okenze2003,
W6 is behaving more like an out-of-footprint bird these days but like borderline said, it wasn't like that before. Presently, I can only get 2m and Arryadia 2 on my motorised mesh with signal quality strugling between 52 and 54% in the daytime. At night it dissappears. I'm sure with pan dish or fibre the story would be different.

Between sirius 4 and w3a, go for sirius 4. But you could recieve both on the same dish with a little bit of ingenuity.

@jayron,
Aljazeera sports channels (on nilesat) are four in number but they are trying to ad three more channels to make it seven.

Choosing between motorized and fixed dishes depends on what you really want to achieve. So, one is not better than the other.
