Awka! Are you aware that they are Aro settlement even in Awka areas. Okpo Wagidi was an Aro through and through.

Well, it will make good sense Wagidi coming from Aro, because it will be inconceivable for the descendants of anyone coming from Awka and its environs, to be denying their Igbo identity at this present age.

You are the one not thinking reasonably here, if an ikwerre person who are now officially Bini shildren were to converse with you as a Bini man, do you think you will understand a word?

I guess you didn't read the list before you posted it. Igodo was the first Ogiso (Igbo) meaning Key down to Owodo the last one. Igodo began the dynasty, forming the kingdom and co-opting other tribes into what was known as Igodomingodo.

Lol...lets use ur analogy...

Ankara is a name of a fabric in Nigeria... automatically.. Nigerians were the ones that originally settled in the Turkish capital Ankara

Or

The English word chicken may have originated from the great Igbo miscreants due to the presence of chi

Or

The word Edo is also used in Japan... Therefore the Benin Empire stretched to Asia

Or

Even the name of ur tribe Igbo is a clear indication that the Yorubas once rules over u...

I could go on and on

Similarities in language is not a valid source to prove history

This tactic of knowing about other people history so you can exploit it for your advantage is how you have built a written and online record of Igbo history. What you posess online and in text has no matching foundation in real terms. In other words, there is disconnect between who you purport to be and who you really are. When you find the shrine and its name return here to share, I will give you the history of Iponri back when it was an Abule, all the way from costain back to the railway yard in Yaba. You are lost!

I'm here talking about ancient tingz, and you are here telling me about railway yard in Yaba.

The thing about shrines is that they hardly change, and the way they are looked after, remains the same throughout the ages.

I have already posted here, the findings of neutral Portuguese observers. Not observations from Ndigbo. The Portuguese clearly noted what they saw when they visited Benin in the 1400s, and what they wrote down will remain forever. Nri was the Benin cultural/religious/social overlord.
If Nri had decided to form an empire, Benin would have been one of the provinces, along with Ife and possibly Awori-owned Lagos.

I will investigate the Iponri thing. I know you will be making frantic efforts to contact the Iponri traditional authorities, but that won't help you, as my traditional Nri people will tell me how to go about it, to verify its authenticity. Bear in mind, the Oba Nri and his group have already investigated and found it to be very plausible, so my investigation is just to satisfy myself.

lol Oduduwa means something bro. That's not his full name just like Fayemi and mimiko ain't their full name you can't even translate their names to English except you translate it from their full names. I've told you that in ODUDUWA, the WA is the short form of IWA which means character. I won't tell you the full ODUDU go and make more research. A Yoruba guy would easily spot his full name even if he guessed it

You are off-point, Binis where an offshoot of early Igbo ancestors, Building an empire later-on has nothing to do with it...... Through out all their conquering and wars they never looked east towards the Igbos, but they were always traversing yerobaland with impunity..have you asked yourself why?

When people confuse stupidity for cleverness is the result of what you're doing. You think by mixing few letters together you can rewrite history but you are wrong, you can continue with your lies it will only end up like a water poured into a basket grin cheesy.

I guess your infatuated with the Nri in IkpoNri but I bet you it is pure Awori. I doubt it has anything to do with Nri. Forgo that argument before you become like Ndi IPOB whose historical understand is only by hearsay. However, you should try and do your own research.

Believe you me, the Oba Nri that made mention of this to me, is a highly respected titled man in Agukwu, whose great grand father was even an Eze Nri.

This Oba was highly respected by Prof. Onwuejeogwu and the rest. And his class are not those that make assertions willy-nilly. I will not be interested in this mission if it was coming from a less serious source, and remember this person knows about shrines and what it takes to maintain them, and the exact way Umu Nri priests carry this task out, and the fact that his people have already been down there and observed the way the shrine is maintained.

This people know the differences between the various neighbouring customs of maintaining shrines, so I will investigate it.

It was this class of people who were telling everyone that wished to listen that Benin was under Nri, and people called them fools and revisionists. If the Portuguese hadn't recorded it, you will be seeing them as IPOB replica.

I was even the person that brought the Portuguese evidence to butress what they have always said. and the Portuguese records even went further, than they ever told me. This Oba only ever told me that Nri had a relationship with Benin in the past, and that past Obas had to send emissaries to collect their OFORs from Eze Nri, but the Portuguese record even went further.

Believe you me, I have more confidence in him than some nameless nairaland miscreants who are bent on destroying the Igbo heritage.

One thing about these Igbos is that they build their thesis based on lies and any statement from them need to be subjected to scrutiny before the general public can hold it as a statement of truth.

That was how one of them said because there is Igbo in “OkeIgbo”, “OdoIgbo”, then that means those places trace their roots to the Igbo people.

Now ofoigbo who I suspect to be pazienza is now saying what is the meaning of Iponri in Yoruba language.

Ori most times in Yoruba theology is akin to one’s destiny.

We have atari - top (center) of the head
Iponri - inner head

Language most times are usually a mixture of two words where letters could be cut off to give it meaning.

ri is the common factor in both words and it’s a shortened form of Ori meaning head.

One's ori-inu (spiritual consciousness in the physical realm) must grow in order to consummate union with one's "Iponri" (Ori Orun, spiritual self).

Iponri is a spiritual word in the Yoruba language and we have a lot of words like that which are usually used in the Yoruba theology.

Iponri most times is an individual’s personal destiny which explain why Yorubas always say “ Iponri inu mi ko ma ba to de mi je.”

Exactly, I didn't think NRI will mean much, when combined with IpoNri. Because if IPO means CONDITION in Yoruba, then IpoNri will mean NRI CONDITION.

Again as I wrote earlier on, once chance permits, I will go shrine hunting in Iponri to learn more. The Oba in Nri that revealed this to me, is not the sort that makes mistakes, and his people have already investigated and found it to be of NRI origin

I’m not surprised tho.

You Igbos don’t have any culture worthy of emulation and you must always attach yourself to the Yoruba culture before you can at least give your own an iota of authenticity.

Abi how would I as an observer fathom the thought behind an Igbo man saying Oduduwa is an Igbo name/ Igbo man when all evidence available to historians and humankind point to the contrary.

At least you guys should try to be natural and original, even if you want to lie, at least present a convincing lie and stop ridiculing yourself by saying jargons online.

There is no evidence anywhere bros, what you have is folktales that a certain Oduduwa fell from the sky, Most if your history especially the ancient ones are folklore and moonlight tales, Igbos didn't indulge in that as such
