Thanks a million!
Although the system isn't letting me put a message through to them.
For a company of global magnitude; one would expect them to have a vibrant cust. care team.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 10:14am On Mar 23
IkoyiLagos:They see the messages but them dey do anyhow to respond.

Shipping Lead time -
I am curious to know the lead time from shipping notification to home delivery in Lagos. Please, how long does it take & in addition, does the 14-day trial commence from the shipping date / the very first time you turn it on?

Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 2:22pm On Mar 27
dustmalik:Abi ooo. Na. Mainly to dey use for house to dey stream and download.
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 2:46pm On Mar 27
My own is giving location error. On the billing address, my address is correct. On service address it just shows federal capital territory abuja.
I tried to change it and kept getting we are at capacity right now. Try again later
I have opened support ticket because it seems this dishy has been setup somewhere in Kuje before because that seems to be where it expects itself to be. I have also enabled portability for now (So that allows me browse for now, until they resolve the matter). My first speed test gave me 31Mbps UP and 6Mbps Down.
Expecting it to improve with time. Now I need to figure out how to pass this cable into the house.

Congratulations bro! When you're big, you're big as I'd like to be like you when I grow up.
With this, I hope you've made up your mind to dump that scam called DSTv and embrace the world of IPTV.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 4:03pm On Mar 27
CavendishPlex:I dey do 3k own for my Wife, on to Zee world. Thanks Cheif
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 4:07pm On Mar 27
I don mount for my roof. No buffering. All streams and download dey fly downloaded a 3gb file in 9 minutes. Since my Ogas said the speed will still increase. I swear I don't care.
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 4:07pm On Mar 27
seunpayne:Could you clarify the emboldened? Do you mean it's been used elsewhere in Kuje before, as in it's a used or refurbished dish?
For the portability, did you have to pay for it?
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 4:39pm On Mar 27
It did look used. Not brand new. It works though. I’m not sure if someone has used it but the location it marked was almost 60km from where I am.
I didn’t pay for portability. In the support ticket I did say I have turned it on pending when the fix the issue
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 5:06pm On Mar 27
Ok. This shit is fast. My wife just play come say make I download last of us for her. 5GB in about 10 mins. For me, great buy. 5GB here wasn't even faster than 150mbps so this is even faster. The promise that it would improve in a few hours is even more impressive. No regrets so far. Hoping support fixes my residential location issue fast.
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 5:12pm On Mar 27
seunpayne:I can't understand why Starlink keeps shipping used dishes to us. It was the same experience I had with my first order. It looked used and very dusty. And because of the abysmal performance, I believed it was defective, and that was why I had to return it and got refunded.
I had hoped that my new order would come with a brand new dish, but given that they are still shipping used dishes to us, I doubt my new order will come with a brand new dish.
I intend to go get it from their office tomorrow morning, and if I am not satisfied with the looks and performance, I will return it and won't be getting another again.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 5:25pm On Mar 27
dustmalik:They also know about this too and theres a thread on their website addressing this too. However, mine smelled very brand new though.
Speed seff don increase oo
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 5:30pm On Mar 27
E dey increase here too. I have hit 90Mbps in my last test. I will test tomorrow.
Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 5:31pm On Mar 27
I really don't mind the look as long as the functionality isn't affected. Its gonna be on the roof so I really couldn't be bothered.
Re: The Starlink Thread by dustmalik: 5:32pm On Mar 27
ibawon:You are one of the lucky ones
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 6:10pm On Mar 27
dustmalik:All the Boxes there were all brand new. Mine was already on it's way to my address, but as my body no cool down, them gas return am back as I don dey there already.
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 6:12pm On Mar 27

Re: The Starlink Thread by seunpayne(m): 6:28pm On Mar 27

Re: The Starlink Thread by Stanley08(m): 12:46am On Mar 28
Fast dot com doesn't show correct speed. It's mostly tested with USA servers far away from you. Try Speedtest, it's more accurate
Re: The Starlink Thread by ibawon(m): 12:25pm On Mar 28
Downloaded that in 4-5 hours. Na 4k be the only content oo. I told everyone at home pack bucket and download as much as you wan. 😄
Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 5:47pm On Mar 28
Is this a flat roof or it's slant. How did you afix it to make sure wind doesn't blow it down?
Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 5:49pm On Mar 28
Did you pay to enable portability? I'm suspecting I might have the same location issue because I had to chose a random area in CBD, Abuja before I was allowed to make full payment. I know there is service where I'll be installing it in life camp but then, I don't know if they instantly allow one to change the service location.
Re: The Starlink Thread by toluxa1(m): 5:57pm On Mar 28
Does one just go ahead with the set up on the app regardless of the service address on the account and it'll work? Service address on my account is in central area while my place is at life camp
