Corinth is a place where most people want to use supernatural powers so when Christianity started growing most of them feel they must have supernatural powers to heal, speak in tongues and do many supernatural things like Jewish disciples of Christ! 1Conrinthians 13:1-13

In 2011/2012 after i had given my life to christ. A young man in my church asked me if i had recieved the infilling of the holyspirit, i said no. He promised to pray for me.

A certain day, i think on a saturday, after church service, he laid hands on me in the name of Jesus and prayed in tongues.

The next thing that happened is that i got up from the hard floor of the church. I didn't feel any pain nor did i remember falling. I didn't speak in tongues either. But i had a lot of faith and was happy and believed i had been filled with the holyspirit.

I understand that you are aquinted with the spirit once you're born again, but there is an infilling or baptism of the spirit different from the born again experience.(Acts8:15-17)

So, did i recieve the infilling of the spirit at that time? Is it possible to be filled/baptised with the holyspirit without recieving any of his gifts like speaking in tongues?

My case was similar. So many times during programs and crusades I will come out and be laid hands on for the baptism of the holy Spirit and I will go back feeling dejected and rejected for not speaking in tongues. After one vigil I attended and Holy Ghost baptism was conducted and I didn't receive, I vowed not to come out for it again.

One early morning in my room during my personal devotion, the power came and I found myself rolling on the floor speaking in tongues uncontrollably. I was alone and not yet married then.

So I believed I have received the Spirit but the gift of tongue did not come immediately. One thing the Holy Spirit does in us is igniting the love for personal fellowship, that explains why I fell in love with personal fellowship with God that resulted to the activation of speaking in tongues of

Remember that so many times before Christ's accession He met with the disciple and more than once in He told them "receive the Holy Spirit...." But they felt nothing until the occasion of Penticosts.

For your information, he started his ministry from the North and his ministry still has strong presences there. He can't be everywhere at the same time. The ministry do send out missionaries to areas open to Churches and he do visit there for ministration. The ministry are in the afore mentioned countries and missioners are there. This is not opinionated. You can research the topic. Note that it's possible to be filled and speak in tongues during the infilling. Afterwards, the person may no longer speak in tongues but he or she still has the baptism. This happened to many ministers of the gospel who walked in power in those days when the knowledge of the baptism was not there. The knowledge of the Holy Spirit Baptism was not rampant even in the early 90s as we have it today.

No my brother, Paul was talking about the primacy of love, not saying that gifts have disappeared. Let me give you two proofs that gifts did not pass away and will not pass away until Jesus comes.

1. Mark 16:15-17 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

The preaching of the gospel continues till yoday, how then could the signs accompanying have passed away.

2.John was the last survivor of the disciples and he received a series of apocryphal visions which included a complete out of body experience.

Truth is many people use so call signs to hoodwink gullible people and turn them away from the scriptures but to say that gifts and sogns have passed away is a reaction and not a reality.

We may not need gifts and signs when the body has come to complete maturity but that day is still far off. Until then the body requires these for its reification and growth.
