So, you are in support of this outmoded tradition? Oh well, what will you say of female circumcision? Practise it, because it's part of our culture?
Re: He refused to Prostrate as Yoruba culture demands by LadyT(f): 12:57am On Jul 30, 2009
I support it! It doesnt hurt anyone.

Tribal marks, female circumcision etc need to be thrown out to the trash heap those kind of things are not needed.

Bowing in Japanese culture

Prostrating in Yoruba culture

different cultures have different ways of showing respectful behavior.

I dont lose sleep over such things but the people whose opinions are important when it comes to matters like that, can and do.

I wouldnt want to prostrate to anybody. Or, would you still prostrate to an elderly person in the market?

ok then we will wait for that change, we also ask all girls to revert to the 1920 place where girls are meant to be
Re: He refused to Prostrate as Yoruba culture demands by LadyT(f): 1:46am On Jul 30, 2009
Theres different levels of prostrating.  You would not go flat to the ground in a market neither would I knee fully in a market.  My darling Ndipe dont get carried away!

You can easily do a semi prostate if the situation demands it or I do a semi knee our elders are not deraged to think you would lie down flat in the middle of a market.
