u sure say hausa na yr tribe?
why using the word 'thread'?
Babu meaning thread a hausance ne aboki?

There are two types of thread in Hausa.

Zare - strong thread providing strength. ( like a string)
Abawa - a softer thread with more cotton or wool on it suitable for proving cover( clothing)

There is a Hausa radio discussion program called " Zare da Abawa" you can say literally " string and thread " for the same analogy NL discussion segment is called. "thread".

There is a nice app by a Nigerian that you can use to learn the 3 languages. It is called Naijapedia. I think it is available on the blackberry app world for blackberry users and there is a link for other users. I will have to check for it and post it here!
Re: Learn How To Speak Hausa Here by SisiKill1: 6:03pm On Nov 12, 2012
tempex88: ruwa - water.
kasuwa - market
inakwana - good morning
ba gajia - No problem
akoi gajia - there is problem
naira danlati - 30 naira
ki - pronoun for woman
ka - pronoun for man
yanrinya - young lady

pronounciation matters a lot cos a sentence can have so many different meaning.

Commendable but Gajiya means tired.

So when someone is asked Ina Kwana?. . .How was your night?

The response is Ba Gajiya - No tiredness. . .which means your night was really really good.

of course I know that my dear.if not for the boko haram insurgence, the north is a good place to live walahi! One thing I love about the hausa people is that they appreciate any non-hausa that speaks their language.I have so many hausa friends from my Alma Mater whose parents are top shots in nigeria.have you tried buying something from a hausa man and you speak hausa to him? Your guess is as good as mine.
