netsurf: fellow nairalanders, let's use this forum to learn more of the 3 major languages in Nigeria. If you happened to be in the North tommorow as a Yoruba or Igbo man, how would you deal with communication if the people you are dealing with does not understand English?

So, if you are from the North or you are good at the language, kindly teach us here so that we can learn how to speak Hausa.

Muje - go
Shiga. - come in

Based on my observation, hausa language has been the most beloved language others who are no hausa will like to learn compare to other languages in Nigeria. I had this experience when I was serving in a yoruba land.
I'm a Yoruba guy born & brought up in Zaria.
'Aboki' means 'Friend' while
'Mallam' means Teacher.
Mallam is used among hausas as a teacher, it is also used as a word of respect to any Man. Eg 'Oga' in Yoruba Language.
