But you can't re-port after just 5 days. You've got to wait for 3 months.
So.....

Line was originally MTN, he ported to go and then after 5 days he ported to etisalat.

Glo is the best Internet service provider. I used it while I was in Kwara State and the speed is amazing, and am now in Ogun State and the service is second to none.

OP....Im sorry but glo is works perfectly for me. With 2500 I get 4.5gig while with Etisalat 2000 is 2gig which can not last me for a month. Ive been enjoying Glo and no problems.

It depends on your location. Where I stay, (Gbagada, Lagos) GLO is faster than ur Etisalat that cheats you to your bones without you knowing it.
The only flaw in GLO Data service is it runs very fast especially when you're given bonus. You're alerted when your data is nearing exhaustion & GLO doesn't delve into your main account while browsing if your data is exhausted (an act Etisalat & Airtel are both guilty of)
GLO is a front runner anyday.

Not possible to port back after a port until 90 days
greenhulk:
Op u are on point. I dumped my glo line early last year because of their erratic internet. I've stayed in Lagos, Ogun and some parts of east and it is the same everywhere. Their internet hardly connects, and when it does most of the tines it is slow. When it eventually gets fast it will let u browse for a few minutes and then disconnects u. U can't stream with ease with this piece of junk. When u finally think u are streaming, next minute it disconnects u and sometimes u have to restart ur phone for the data to restore only for it to disappear again after a couple of minutes.

I had a friend who was complaining about MTN data speed and price. He told me he wanted to port to glo, I warned him he was jumping from fry on to fire, he didn't listen. He eventually ported (reason for porting was mainly because of internet). This guy almost cried when he found out he needed to fast and pray before his glo line can browse. He eventually got fed up after just 5 days and went to port the same line again to etisalat, now he's enjoying his internet.

It sounds funny...i use Glo; it's super fast in my bedroom and absolutely slow in my sitting room....mtn is super fast even tho I hate them.

Glo saving grace is their cheap data

Same here bro. A cheetah in my bedroom but a snail in the living room. MTN is a cheetah everywhere in the house although very costly

Freelanswer:
For my data needs, I use Etisalat and Glo mainly. I am attracted to Etisalat for their high quality service and to Glo for their dirt cheap service. But, I have recently realized that Glo has actually been cheating me by making it appear their service is cheap. Actually, when I consider the value I get from Glo, it's actually far more costly than using Etisalat: Imagine that you'd buy a Glo data but for it to connect is a big problem. At other times, it will connect and everything shows it's connected but you can't open a single web page. Some other time, it would let you browse but with very annoying limitations regarding many sites. At other times, it's at a snail speed. These are sites that, once you change to Etisalat, it opens with one touch.

The most annoying part of it is that while all these are happening, Glo keeps spamming you with endless SMSes talking about "SUPER FAST" internet service (all in capital letters). Then, you call their customer care, they keep you waiting for ages. Then, you go to their office, you meet with very rude treatment not expected of customer service anywhere.

From my overall experience with Glo, I can say the only advantage they have is price. But I have realized even that price is deception. I believe the NCC should look into Glo Data service. But, I want first to make sure there is a sizable number of you people who have a similar experience with me. To know Glo is the only indigenous brand of all the service providers in the country and yet, patriotism is not letting them make Nigerians happier with them than with the rest is nothing to write home about. However, as I already said, this is my own experience so far. Let me hear from you guys. I don't think any service provider should be allowed to rip Nigerians off under any guise.
op I guess you are living in a rural community. Where I'm glo answers me at just a click. To me globacom is the best services provider. Not just only on data services, but ovahull best services provider in media/telecommunications in Nigeria and beyond.

Na wa o, everybody is saying bad about their data, when I'm about to port. May be i should stay with my etisalat.

FYI im on the glo network, and if you knew how long it took me to quote you. (Even though my network bar was full)

Please please! stay with Etisalat! Glo Internet service is cheap but crap, at least for the past 3 weeks, it's been really bad, and then when you call their customer care center, they keep telling you nothing is wrong with the network.

I once had a Glo line, I used for internet purpose, the service was epileptic. Can you imagine the signal going off for a week in ilorin way back 2012? I didn't waste time in breakng the sim myself. I wonder why they have many Ambassadors when the money can used to improve their service delivery instead of over 10 celebrity ambassadors endorsing an eplieptic service provider.

NEHLIVE:
PLS my sister don't port. I beg u in the name of God. GLO can make you smash ur smart phone on the floor I was using etisalat, then my babe advise I use GLO to browse cos it's cheap. Na so I port O. Etisalat Internet network is almost faster than speed of light., but it's expensive and it finishes fast. GLO on the other hand, can almost dash you 10 gig for 2 thousand Naira. But it's almost useless. It almost cost a serious fight between me and my babe as I was ways complaining out of the GLO frustration and she felt I was blaming her for her good intention to help me save money. I eventually moved back to etisalat on Saturday. I felt like someone who just got freed from prison.
Lol thank u

I used to enjoy Glo Internet Date Service when I was based in Ota, Ogun State. It was superb, super fast and very reliable. However, when I relocated to Ibadan, Oyo State, the story changed. In fact, that particular month I moved, I lost over 2.5GB Data because there was no network to use it. It was terrible. At times, you see the full signal but it refuses connect. I had to advise myself and switch to Airtel which offers excellent internet data service.

I've been using airtel internet data service (via Airtel Broadband and recently, USB tethering) since September 2012 and it has been extremely reliable in all locations I've been to (Yola, Asaba, Umuahia, Ibadan, Ota, Lagos, Abeokuta, Zaria, Makurdi etc). The only reason I switched to Glo was that they offered cheaper rates. I however discovered just as the OP said that the inconvenience far outweighs the low price.

After about a year of not utilising my Glo SIM for internet data subscription, I decided to try it again and I'm regretting it seriously. I'm currently in Yaba, Lagos State and the Glo isn't responding at all. Its so bad even here in Yaba. Even to open homepage of google na wahala.

@ OP, I've been using GLO data service for quite a long time and it connects like lightning here in Port Harcourt, I think it depends on your location, take note some remote locations only get GPRS/EDGE which is slow, while in the city you can get HSPA...thats really fast!
Also check your system and browser if using a computer to browse....
I use goggle chrome on my system and the speed is superb, one other thing i like about GLO data is that your data gets rolled over to the next month if you didnt exhaust it after your validity period expires unlike others, but you must have the required credit on your line for auto roll-over ....

Meanwhile check out this link for superb and affordable accommodation in Port Harcourt : https://www.nairaland.com/2796455/brand-new-affordable-luxury-flats

And they still want us to be patronizing local products and services, yet no quality both in goods and services. But how can yhu blame them when there is no electricity and people burn diesel daily. They therefore reduce quality to cover for loses

Oya its time to send MTN out of the country

grin

Buy the time we all port to glo, even Adenuga would be so overwhelmed and confused on what to do with his company.

Nigerians generally have a poor approach to business. Only few are exempted.

I just pity those who believe Nigerian local companies can 'drive' our economy.

different strokes for different folks. For those of us using a dual Sim phone na us go fit understand wella. All networks are not reliable. Different locations different network wahala.

I use glo bis on android and I can tell you authoritatively that the internet speed is blazing.

I am sure someone else will relate the same op's story with airtel , mtn and Etisalat.

Glo Internet in Benin is heartbreaking...imagined you planning for valentine since last year to spend it with one Girl, you bought a jeans and Shirt, shoes , underwear like ur boxers and everything is new including your wrist watch and you bought a condom to complement the preparation , u practice the fun alone and you are waiting the girl to show up at a deaignated or agreed place, you waited , waited and waited and eventually decide to call her Glo Line. All you hear is the number you are trying to call is nor reachable...imagine that kind of heartbreak is what Glo will give you when u relied on then for browsing.
I almost cried one night...

Globacom...they have inherited airtel's baseless and dead internet connection...Glo can give high Bp...dia internet is really really erratic...I stay in abuja ...mine is worse cause I stay in high building (I should be getting good reception right?)...there EDGE is even more reliable than dia 3G....(Throttling things I guess)...Glo de phucking terrible. I de manage dem cause I still de use my 4 my bb...and its affordable...the day I will be able to afford a broadband connection in my life, they will not see my back .

The answer to your problems is MTN hynet WIFI. Their cheapest data plan is N4000 for 9 GB (30 days duration). It is super fast.

Nobody talked-about MTN, truthfully MTN is the best in everything, both data and otherwise...... Though they've not given me back my #2400 that I transferred to someone using share and sell since last year, but was never credited to the person. I've called their customer care more than 15 times they kept telling me 'it will be reverted on or before 24 hrs' . I'm still waiting for the 24hrs.

MTN take note my number is 08037498805

Glo data service is so annoying day and night and mine started like 2 weeks ago . I stay up all night hoping it will be better but it's snail speed even with the H+ sign showing will frustrate me to sleep. They just need to do something about it.
