We are not stingy. Never heard that, I've heard stubborn sha.

Ekiti ppl are too friendly and nice. Unfortunately, some people take our kindness for granted. And thats where our other side pops out grin

The school I think is still in existence. I think the school you're talking about is Jolayemi area, am I correct? Capital hotel is still intact and yes, it's around Estate area. Do you have an idea where your friend lives? I can ask a friend down there to trace her up for you. Get back at me.
@ FL Gators, Oyo men are hardworking men, but they are too local and are easily manipulated. You might think they are crafty but deep inside them is where venom resides.

And MOREMI is the first female king in Ile-Ife.

Moremi was the woman who offered her son, Oluorogbo as a sacrificial lamb to a goddess of Esinmirin in order to set the IFES free from the captivity of UGBO

Sorry o, do you speak Yooba, Aderemi could mean Prince Remi if you are from royal family, others it is "A de remi "arrived to console me".  Oluremi mean God has consoled me, Olu is short form for Oluwa in Yoruba.

Is this the same as Igbo, which is the version I've heard.

I just asked this question on another thread.

Sorry sweetheart. Gbongans are Modakekes and vice versa. When war broke out, they moved to Modakeke. Later on Modakekes moved back to Gbongan. Those who didn't want to stay in Gbongan went to form Ode Omu. That's why you'll run into Ode Omu next to Gbongan without knowing at all.

Remi means I'm tired- wasnt aware of another meaning outside the ones I've mentioned.

So I learnt something today in any case.

Unless we want to start claiming where we're all born as being citizens of there, no one is from Lagos. Where's your dad from? Where was your paternal grandfather from? Trace it back there, that's where you're from.

Saki!!!! Hmmm. . . they make pots but I know them mostly for manufacturing guns. They are quietly controversial. Oyo men will act like they are stupid but they are crafty on the inside.

I have to look up a map of Osun state because I have no idea where some of these towns being discussed are.

my paternal side can trace their links back to somewhere in Ogun maybe. Too long ago for any meaningful analysis.

There was some disruption during the slave trade and a lot of migration.

I just learnt fairly recently that I have a distant ancestor from Ekiti. I wasnt aware of that before.
