@Emeritus,

Change tp DVB-S2 & 8QPSK, and retrack again, at least 25 channels will pop up, enjoy the air

@Emeritus153,
I'm sure your queries have been well taken care of by sammu and solo1ng1. But in case you still have issues you can let me know.

@sammu, solo1ng,
You guys well done. That is the spirit of FTA. We were all newbies also at a time and somebody helped us to be where we are today. So, we must all be willing to help others.

@George_D

thank u for the diagram. Is it possible for any welder to build, if not like how much did it cost u to build it.

You can as well do me one favour, if u can send me the top view of your construction.

@jayron,
The large o-ring you saw was actually the upper part of the ground stand for a 2.4m STRONG pan dish. The black 'neck' is a salvaged part of a dis-used old comstar dish. What I did was to take the o-ring to a welder and told him to centralize the comstar neck on the o-ring stand. My intention is to mount it on a pole to motorize the pan. I think I was just fortunate to find a dis-used polar mount neck. Otherwise what most people do is take the o-ring of the stand to a welder and ask them to locally fabricate a polar neck for them. Just compare the pictures below:

change Dvb_s to dvb_s2 and QPSK to 8PSK, and u are there to go
@solo 1ng1,u're correck only that instead of u writing 8PSK u wrote 8QPSK.

@jayron,
Compare these to my own COMSTAR-STRONG combo neck. You will appreciate it better when it is eventually mounted on a pole. Will post the pictures when the time comes:

@ George_D

You are too much, thank u very much. This is the reason for creation of this forum, these pictures are too much for me. I can now handle the whole thing on my own. What i need to do is to get a good welder to help me in construction of the stand. Thank u, u are too much.

@ All

I want to thank u all for ur effort n saving us from installers who charge exhubiant amount on installation. Am very grateful, Cheers shocked grin

@jayron,
You're welcome. Just keep up the spirit. You'll go along way in FTA when you're eager to learn like this. Very soon, you'll be lecturing so-called installers and putting them through.

Regards to everybody from a cold East Midlands of the UK.It is nice to be with you on season 4.thanks for the link to nta online.it was easy to pick nta international there.It is very clear and smooth here.walahi,it was clearer than watching it on terrestial tv in my naija home.I hope they show Eagles matches.I read on the site that they started on October 1 2009.I hope they stay long there.i urgently need AIT's link online for the super eagles matches.anybody with an idea on that?
It seems the thread is not getting as hot as it was some months back.what is really happening?no echolink.no gamma,no coco discussions again.I miss those moments.
I have attached my pix which had me and my housemates.I am the only African amongst 27 people from all over the world.I am doing well in selling Nigeria/Africa to them.they all want to visit the continent.

enigma,
na wa ooo.long time no hear from you.i am near you now.let's hook up.i rely on online tv for all my matches.even the England-Ukraine match comes on internet next Saturday.regards.

if you are saying that your decoder is not powering on again, then most likely that you have one of them fake 4653x decoders. using the patch on it usual fries it,what you need to do is connect your receiver with a null modem cable and the strong srt loader and try to revive the decoder.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by lovala(m): 2:06am On Oct 07, 2009
You probably have a fake Decoder. If you are so sure you have an original one, take it to any Strong outlets, they will work on it for you, but they will surely reject working on it, if it is a fake. Goodluck pal.
@Twinstaiye:
Oga Moderator, I thank you so very much for your patience. All the others who helped in one way or another in pushing me in the right direction towards the resolution of my malaise, (for until I solve the problem with the 4663, it remains a malaise to me) I wanna say I am very grateful. FTA is for life and what is life if not tolerance. However, I pray I don’t become the cause for concern again in such a manner in the future albeit the fact that I regret ever flashing the decoder which I just bought from a dealer here in Yaounde. He got it from Alaba, Lagos since that’s where he sources all his electronic gears for sale here in his shop. If the 4663X Conax PVR is a fake then I’ve been taken for a ride. I do regret flashing it for it was working as smooth as a song until over sabi got the better of me. I’ll never go that far again without adequate advice from those who know.
what u need to do is what twinstaiye have just said above.and if u have the required materials for loading the firmware,then u can reload the right firmware.

what happened to your receiver is that u loaded the wrong firmware.but since it still displays light infront of the receiver when u power on,these are the things u need:

1-RS-232 CABLE WHICH MUST BE A CROSSED ONE.

2-STRONG LOADER.

3-THE RIGHT FIRMWARE.

CAHT ME ON DEJSAM 247@YAHOO.COM LET ME GIVE U DIRECTION OF HOW TO GO ABOUT IT.
@Desjam
Now, oga Desjam, is the RS-232 CABLE (which must be crossed) the same as a NULL MODEM Cable? ‘Cos some one hinted to me that the later can also do the same job. If not, will I be the one to cross the RS-232 cable or can one buy it already crossed? While waiting to get your take on this question, I’ll go visit a PC shop to see if I can get the cable.
I'll get back to you as soon as everything is set via your e-mail addy.
Thanks a trillion man.

Oga GeorgeD, I hail o.
Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by lovala(m): 3:20am On Oct 07, 2009
@twinstaiye:

There are no strong dealers in the whole of Cameroon. We relly on these products from Naija. In fact the set up boxes here are mostly french type boxes which are solely fta without accommodation for the usage of smart cards except for what Canalsat dishes out here.

regards.

@lovala,

its the same as the null modem cable.(both ends  must be female)but the issue is that most of the ones u get from computer shops are straight cables,meaning that they are not crossed so u have to do the crossing manually.so all u need to do is get a multimeter used in measuring electrical values then the null modem cable will be cut in to two equal halves from the middle then u now cross both sides like this:

pin1---------------------------------pin5

pin2---------------------------------pin3

pin3---------------------------------pin2

neutral ------------------------------neutral(that is the naked wires of both side will be crossed together too)

with this crossing method u can use it with any receiver or loader.either strong or echolink or starsat,etc

i hope this helps u out.

@dejisam and all,

i think that there is a typo error there, it is actually pin5 to pin5, because the 2 must be ground (GND) lines on either side of the connectors. just a contribution. kudos to u all.
