Religion is not a ticket but your relationship with Christ and quest to follow what he wants.

thanx bro.... I wonder when they will get to differentiate the fact that Religion does not guarantee u make Heaven

Can non Christians go to heaven? I think that's a question that no man except God should be answering. Religion is too complicated in this world, its insane.

What happened to the people that died even before Jesus was born?

Why can anyone sit there and say a Muslim (or any other religion) that has been abiding by the rules of his/her religion all his life end up in hell?

Take moment to think of how there are so many versions of Christianity (Catholic, Anglican, Redeem, Baptisit) and so on.

How can a Church that was established only 40 years ago preach to people that you are a non believer if you don't attend our church? (I once attended a church like that)

Why do different churches translate the bible differently?

Gay Pastors? (http://www.christiangays.com/marriage/maryland.shtml)

I'm a Christian and I come from a very religious family, but I dont think being a Christian, or a born again Christian is the 'only' way to make it into heaven. It's ok to believe in whatever religion you are, but dont be judgemental, being judgemental is never a good thing - wether in Religion, business or whatever the case may be. There's only one God! and he listens to his people, wether you get to him through a Quran or a Bible.

Jesus said "who is not with us is against us"
If you do not belong to Him then you can't go to Him, i.e you can't go to heaven.
He is the Way, truth and life.
No sinnner is Christian and no Cristian is a sinner!
If you are not christian(believer) then you can't inherit His kingdom.

why not leave the judgement and the secret things to God and do what he asks us to do....teaching men to believe in Jesus, The way, The truth, and The life.

We have no right to judge. God knows how he does it..what about people that died without hearing about religion? Now u tell me they will also go to hell....dont judge...our God will decide....This bible can say one thing here and say another in some other place and usually the interpretation or the meaning from the bible can be ambigious which is why we so many denominations today contructing their belif to suit their system...

In general, we have no write to judge becasue our God created us from his own perception and we do forgive people for doing us wrong. That God can as well forgive on the last day...that does not mean u should be sinning with the hope of forgiveness on the last day cheesy

Well said. In addition most people who say that only "christians" will go to heaven or "non-christians" will not go to heaven simply do not know the Bible well; some have not even studied the Bible at all; maybe some have listened to a misguided preacher or 'wo/man of God' who him/herself has a poor understanding of the Bible.

Those saying "non-christians" will not go to heaven should go and do a simple study of John 10:16 and Romans chapters 1-5 (or if too lazy read only Romans chapter 2). And then try to square that with what they are saying. By the way, this is a rather simple assignment; there are far more complex exegetical exercises and Bible passages on these questions that some people are just giving opinions without study/knowledge.

Even the nature of Christ, His words, His purpose and His actions go against all these saying that all "non-christians" are not going to heaven nonsense.

This has got nothing to do with sentiments. Its clear, nobody who is not born again will go to heaven. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and you are a good person, sorry, you ain't going to no heaven. Its hard to swallow, but let truth be told.Better not find out for yourself, hell is real, heaven is real, give your life to Jesus Christ and live the life,He is coming very very soon, and if you are not born again, you will not go to heaven.Period.

for me i believe that ppl will be judged according to their consciences
ie did u do the things that where expected of u by ure religion
i'm grateful that no religion teaches us bad things?
so whether christain or muslim or wherever we worship we should be sure that we leave of leaving our lives according to their good teachings

What about the sharia law? that ladies in kano will not longer ride at the back of okada for sensless religious hypotetical stance. It is morally wrong to humanity, philosophy and phsycology. Let them come to NYC, i will take them to the strippers club. As.sholes.... wink

On the topic of whether non believers in Christ will go to heaven or not, please check the narration that starts in Mark 12 Vs 28 on the benchmark/basic criterion that will take one to the kingdom of God. Read how he laid down this first principle in answering the question which a scribe posed to him. Read further down to the point where he said ' you are not far from the kingdom of God' in appreciation of the affirmation of his answer by the scribe.

Whoever hears the gospel of Christ and harken to it before the emergence of Muhammad will enter Paradise. Afterwards, whoever harkens to the Teachings of Muhammad, which are made to reaffirm and complete what Jesus started to teach but could not complete (refer to the episode of Last Supper in respect of washing of hands and feets of his disciple and the reproach handed to Peter at that occassion, among many incomplete teachings) will enter the Kingdom of God. Those who fail to follow the teachings of Muhammed after his emergence, even if they claim to believe in Christ are not assured of Paradise.
Re: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven? by kismat: 4:41pm On Dec 16, 2005
well said nuru. In Islam, Not even muslims are assured of going to heaven.

"But how (will they fare) when we gather them together against a day about which there is no doubt, and each soul will be paid out just what it has earned, without (favour or) injustice? " 3:25

“Everyman’s fate we have fastened on his own neck. On the Day of Judgment we shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread open. Read thine record sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an account against thee”. (17:13-14).

"We shall set up scales of justice for the Day of Judgement, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least, and if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account." 21:47

"And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice. "18:49

As for not believing in Jesus as a messiah, well, that comment purely comes from ignorance. We do believe in Jesus (born miracusily, healed the born blind, leapers and gave life to the dead by God's permission).

"And those who believe and do good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they dwell therein forever." (Quran, 2:82)

It doesnt say Muslims, but only those who believe (in one God) and do good deeds (fast, give charity and pray) will dwell in paradise. May God make us among them.

"And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful." Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." 2:111 - 112

Kismat & Nuru:

Thank God, that in my faith, I am assured of heaven, not by my works but by the work of whom I put my faith in, and that is Christ Jesus. You're! There is nothing we can do to be righteous, for man is evil by nature but my faith is on that which was sin-less and who bore my sins even before I was conceived and born. What else can I ask for?  grin How can we not be greater for someone to pay up our debts even before we know the person.  smiley Why do we always think we have to do something to earn something? In my faith, no works - be it moral, charity, good living, etc. will earn you heaven, but just believing and trusting on the person who died for your sins. Believing and trusting mean that you forsake everything you think will save you or earn you heaven (whether morality, giving to the poor, living a good life, etc.) for what was already done for you and me, that is, the death and burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus. Isn't great that someone died for you and me despite being rejected by us?  rolleyes Of all religions out there, none is parallel to my faith because while others wants believers to do something to earn heaven, mine only require me to believe and trust in his death, burial and resurrection.   wink Great in deed!  grin

I might write a third book about heaven...It will be titled, "I can see heaven" It will disccused what the heaven is likley to be like,,,,Dont be surprise if u see anger as part of the personality in this book. cos some people will definitly be angry in heaven among other things....my second book, "In defense of animals" u can get in if intrested...also my first book is still selling..titles "Foundations of human problem"
Re: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven? by Geez(m): 5:35pm On Dec 16, 2005
Lexyflexy & Goodguy, another good side to my faith is the freedom to be free - no bondage, no rituals, and legalism!  grin Why should those who rejected God go to heaven? Why would you be forced to go to a place you do not want? Why would you reject someone and go to his house to eat and sleep?  smiley  If those who rejected God end up in heaven, that makes God a cosmic dictator who will force people against their will. We have the choice to accept him or be forever be separated from him.  smiley  Heaven is only through accepting him - that is through his only begotten son, Christ Jesus, who already paid for our sins.  smiley  All we need to do is accept him and recognize the sacrifice of his death, burial and resurrection. This just couldn't be simpler! wink

I am just to luck for someone to pay my debts!  smiley I thank Jesus for this!  smiley

What makes you think some people will be angry in heaven? Do you know what that means? You're simply implying there will still be SIN in heaven.
Re: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven? by Geez(m): 5:44pm On Dec 16, 2005
Goodguy you're right. I think Larger_20 may have gotten it wrong! There will be no anger in heaven. I hope Larger_20 is not injecting his idea of heaven into the christian faith. I glean pic of heaven is in the bible especially in the book of resurrection.
Re: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven? by larger20(m): 6:03pm On Dec 16, 2005

Larger 20, good luck on your version of heaven. Heaven cannot be boring. Boredom is human nature, in our glorified body, there will be no boredom. If you know what is it to be in a concert where your favourite artists play your favourite songs, then you can imagine the glorious mood that will forever be in heaven. smiley grin shocked
Re: Christians: Can a Non-Christian Go to Heaven? by babycute(f): 6:26pm On Dec 16, 2005
In view of this question, ill make a clear distinction of who i tnk a christian is and who isnt.a christian is a follower of christ,a believer, while a non christian isnt a believer of christ.he mit v oda beliefs.now being a christian does not neccesarily mean uld go2heaven..its clearly stated in d bible verily i say unto u,except a man be born again he cannot c d kingdom of God.in view of dis verse.it can be seen dat its nt enuf4one2 claim christianity.one as2 be born again.u knw confessing ur sins and living ur life acc2 ow God wants u2. Now with regards 2d 2nd category dat is d non xtians.its clear also dat no amount of good deeds, righteous living,or wateva will be sufficient enuf2pay ur way in2heaven.a man as2be born again and his name written in d book of life..so a non xtian as no place in Gods kingdom..hope i made some sense oh .
