I'm ekiti and I noticed d Bini influence in my state
Many Yoruba towns up to kwara had Bini influence, including bishop oyedepo town omu aran,I've seen d pic of first king of omu aran dressing like oba of Benin in 1945
I've seen d influences of Bini in ekiti and ondo states clearly
But as time went on u have to understand people change with religion and environment as factor
Bini empire was great no doubt, but everything Has changed
I'm ekiti but I don't hear or speak ekiti dialect
Most Yorubas now only speak d popular central Yoruba we all speak, even I've seen Yorubas of kogi west complaining of losing their dialects to central Yoruba
That's just how it is
For now the only thing d bini ppl have is their past, no other tribe claim them because they want to b part of big 3 tribes in Nigeria, it is also happening to northern minority with d Hausa stuff
I'm sorry but that's just d fact
Mumu of the year who is speaking Benin in ondo or ekiti state pls receive sense.

Do u know that the now known lagos state was taken out of remo land and ijebu land in ogun state
Places like sagamu had their land carved into Ogun state and places like ikorodu are part of ijebu land
Most of Lagos now were taken out of ogun state and Lagos is d smallest state in Nigeria
There are many kings in Lagos who don't make noise like oba of Lagos, saying that because he is called oba of Lagos then he controls all of Lagos is a lie
The Lagos oba of Lagos control is very small
Ask anybody
Do u know of oba of elegushi
Oba of ikorodu and so on
Awori ppl are the owner of most of Lagos
The area in Lagos that was under Benin ppl was very small
Do u know there is a place called abule egba in Lagos?
Abule means village in Yoruba language, egba ppl are mostly in Abeokuta in Ogun state, but abule egba was their land before
Many places in the now known Lagos had no influence from Benin
The place oba of Lagos has domain over in Lagos is very small
It is because of d name Lagos, everybody thinks he control everywhere in Lagos
Saying Lagos is Bini land is dumb and stupid
Awori and egba and ijebu ppl land in Lagos alone is more than 70% of Lagos
Are they Benin ppl?

Thank u my brother..it's like saying Alaafin of oyo is the oba in charge of all oyo state..whereas he only controls oyo town..oba of Lagos controls mainly the island part of Lagos state..the part of Lagos he controls is like oyo town tht Alaafin controls in oyo state!

LogicStatement:

Why do you think migration can only happen when people move from Brazil to Western Africa and not the other way around? History tells us that Some Yoruba people were taken as slaves to the Americas and when slave trade was abolished, the free 'slaves' were dumped in Brasil, Cuba, Haiti, other Carribian countries and in Liberia West Africa. So you see, the Yorubas you see today in Brazil are the descendants of Yorubas in Western Nigeria.

u are right , in fact goat meat pepper soup for u

His grandfather is a saro- those that either migrated from freetown in Liberia or Brazil directly to settle while they searched for their ancestry - before slavery became a thing in the 16th century, yorubas were selling their slaves from the spoils of ethnic wars into slavery, and most of them were shipped to bihiara (not sure of the proper spelling now) or Brazil and Portugal, that is why some like ajayi crowther were taken/sold, as a slave in the early 1800's at age 12 the yoruba ethnic group is closed and confined and they spread as far as Abidjan Ghana Togo and benin republic

They speak Lacumi. Lacumi is a form of Yoruba that has been influenced by Spanish. What really surprised me is how they keep the culture for hundred of years.

I think Yorubas are from Brazil , just like Igbos from isreal , hausas are from Mali ?

I heard

I have a Yoruba friend from Santos in Lagos island , his granddaddy is from Brazil ,
Yorubas aren't from Brazil.

The "Yorubas" you find in Brazil are the result of the transatlantic slave trade.

They are from Yoruba and not the other way round.

They regard Nigeria as home and not the other way round.

They bow to the Ooni whenever he visits.

Yes you can but I don't think ethnicity is s popular niche. You may need to work twice as hard as others

Your aim should be to leverage your blog to become a speaker or critic.

You can refer people to your blog through Quora and Reddit subreddits. You'll get lots of visitors from those sites. You can also join ethnicity groups on Facebook. There should be some

produly Yoruba, The religion is called santeria They worship different kinds of Yoruba gods and goddess.

Santeria is the one practiced in Cuba. The one in Brazil has another name, however, both are very similar and are offshoots of mostly yoruba culture (however, not entirely yoruba).
