Cheap data at the expense of quality service delivery? Can't you see that Glo still find it difficult to offer quality service delivery countrywide inspite of their cheap data
u think a European company is coming to offer poor service ??...they are coming with expertise and affordable services.

it's just like netflix,Amazon prime and Disney plus coming to Nigeria and DSTV fans think those American companies won't be able to match DStv standard

They are an Internet service provider. They had one of the fastest speeds sometime around 2014 but the cost was so high and customer support wasn't very good so we stopped using it. I don't know about how they are doing right now.

It is not a GSM company but an Internet service provider. Nigerians were using it to augment the terrible services provided by our GSM companies because they were better. But now, they are even worse!

You know nothing, John Snow. Because you have 3 SIM cards, you think the market is saturated? Do you know how many Nigerians exist or how many new Sims are being sold every minute?
I wonder how many range of numbers MTN has now, not to talk of the others.
Saturated koo, Saturday nii!

Let's watch and see how things unfold. How does the bolded affect dstv when they have variety of stations?

They want to come and steal our data and compromise our national security, France can not be trusted, a Russia or British company will be better...

they are heavily invested in future technologies. IoT, Digital twin and loads which is the future of telecoms btw. How many people still make voice calls... data calls is the future, free Internet is also the future.
People still make voice calls. With the poor internet service delivery from these service providers, many Nigerians still opt in voice calls

edoairways, if they come with a functional business model, they'd gain market share and get an edge over the competition. For example, if they ask you to pay a monthly basic subscription fee of 5k to get 72 hours of local calls per month to any line and 50 Gb of data for Internet and they are their Internet is superfast than what is currently obtainable, trust me, they'd make profits. They need 20 million monthly subscribers to break even.

The market is not saturated.

If they offer better and maybe cheaper calls, plus superb internet at reasonable price, then many people will port to their side.

The market is far from being saturated.

When most of the numbers u going to call are MTN numbers

MTN will not give them soft land on calls to MTN numbers
That's the game plan

Nigerian government, take note. Please help us and shut down this attempt by the French. They have to come clean. Else, they should not come. They are too cuning. Dear Buhari, do unto them what the united States did to Alibaba. The u.s knew they had Amazon. So they refused alibaba entry.. Our foreign policy is being tested. I hope Buhari will pass this test.

I hope they can offer unlimited Internet for a fix fee, like they do in Europe. I pay 25 euros per month for an unlimited 5G network, please bring it to Nigeria. MTN and other network are milking us dry here.

Thank you.

25$ a month for 5G unlimited..

Na lie..

I still repeat that the market is saturated. You made reference to SIM card sales, if you watch closely, those who purchase new sims are existing subscribers except for few. Now ask yourself why many Nigerians buys sim to enjoy freebies

Where Dem dey when we needed thier likes?
Anyway, it's better it buys out 9 mobile or Airtel in order to compete effectively, otherwise it may end up packing out within a few years of operation because the market is highly competitive now.

1st, no market is ever saturated. Limitless opportunities are always there in every given market.

2. Competing in a Telecom industry in Nigeria and south Africa should not be too hard for a company like orange, if they get there acts right.

Means you don't understand business. If you are frustrated with your provider for instance, you might want to try someone else.
If the existing providers are frustrating you with bad customer service and these guys do better, you will shift.
For the kind of providers we have in naija, and the poor services, there is a great opportunity for more providers after they explore the loopholes.

Well Glo Ghana offers something similar yet their subscribe base is still low. It is a win win for us as Nigerians but I only put the orange because the business model of Europe isn't the same with Nigeria. Each country has a different model that works for them. Since there are limited base stations countywide, we might experience poor voice quality. MTN Nigeria offer something similar few years ago but was halted by Ncc

Oga you don't understand numbers in business. If the market is truly saturated, then the existing telcos will not be expanding their market share. As someone who works in a related industry, Nigeria is not saturated in anything technology and allied sphere. Infact we are just scratching the surface.
Imagine even the mobile phone industry that supports the sim card, why do they bother producing yearly and having new entrants? Think.
Re: Orange To Enter The Nigerian GSM Market by jaxxy(m): 6:39pm On Jun 15, 2020
If they are not taking over any existing network this might be very difficult and the Frenchs are not known to be very aggressive in business like the Arabs and Asians.

Telecoms is not oil and gas or fashion and hospitality.
