Have you restarted the router since you split the 2.4 and 5ghz setting?

It was happening to me initially, my iPhone 14 Pro Max and MacBook Pro M1 were not seeing the 5GHz frequency while my Pixel 6, 7 & iPhone X were seeing it perfectly fine.

After a while, everything could see the 5GHz fine. And it's even more efficient now that I have a mesh system installed.

Just give it a while. It might be a router update. Those happen automatically. But yh, you can attempt rebooting the Starlink and router but no guarantee that would work.

Abeg, who has used other Virtual USD service card asides Payday to order for Starlink

Payday is in a mess.. They sent a message that we should open another USD account that they are currently habit issues with their vendors blah blah and that our current balance would be transferred to the new USD account (I av about $62).

Now, I av opened another USD account since 4weeks ago and no response yet. Message I got was that they will get back to me when approved. I have chatted their agents 100 times, no solution

Now, I want to order for Starlink as and I don't want trouble or a situation where my naira will hang or won't be able to do monthly subscription

You are yet to order for Starlink. What you did was to deposit for future availability of Starlink service at the service address you chose. Starlink presumes its service is not available at your service address if it doesn't recognize it.

When ordering for Starlink, you are supposed to choose a recognized service address.

What to do in your own case: Log into your Starlink account. Now, edit your service address to a recognized address close to your actual address. Any recognized address within 5km radius is fine. You should now be able to proceed to pay the full payment.

Thanks bro... U ar a rare gem..

From my own little investigation on their availability map, some highbrow areas.. Ikeja, Surulere etc are put on waiting list while places and addresses from Ikorodu are on availability list.. Does it mean that starlink is currently concentrating on remote areas and holding up places in the cities. One can see that ikorodu from the colour is on service availability list, while a highbrow area 'Bode Thomas' in Surulere in on waiting list

Logically, this makes sense, given that highbrow areas already have quite a number of options available, like Fiber-to-the-home, 5G etc.

This isn't correct, it's not because of Fibre or Highbrow areas, nothing like that. It's because these areas are at capacity, it's written on their website that they will stop shipping to certain areas to avoid congestion when satellites serving there areas are at full capacity. If not, everybody's speed will be slow and everyone loses. So when someone disconnects from these areas OR more Satellites are available to serve these areas then the next person on the waitlist gets their Starlink shipped. This also explains why they are charging some people only $42 for reservation/waitlist instead the full $600.
(see screenshot below)

Also if you want to change your address, they warn you that you may not be able to change back to your current service address for the same reason above
(see screenshot below)

Why is this happening?
This is caused by those FOOLS! And yes, i said fools. The fools that are ordering tens and hundreds of Starlink devices to resell because they don't understand how it works. They think it's just like MTN MiFi that you just buy and connect. Till someone in an area at max capacity buys it for 580K and can't connect. Then them go get heart to heart talk for Police station.

I said it that Nigerians will abuse this Starlink thing and it is already happening. Now many people who need the service can't access it because of greed and sheer stupidity of few.

Every cell is a 15mile hexagonal surface area. So it's very possible you have ordered your Starlink to a different cell and it won't work well at your own address because there's no way to tell if you are at the centre or close to the edge of this hexagonal area (your address' cell).

Hopefully you'll be able to connect without issues, but if you experience any problems you know why now. Alternatively, you can always add portability or roam at an extra cost. However, Speed Priority is given to people with fixed addresses.

don't get too excited though. The speed is around 40mbps when you connect to the 2.4ghz frequency and most devices don't detect the 5ghz frequency. My laptop is the only device I have that detected the 5ghz frequency and the speed I get while connected to 5ghz is an average of 140mbps. That's only when the starlink makes sense. 40mbps is enough for most internet related stuff but I wish my phone can detect the 5ghz frequency. 40mbps (5MB/s download speed) speed feels like I am still using MTN 4g
