Tomorrow is Sunday!

Tell us a reason you don't/no longer believe in Jehovah God, and we'll try to debunk your reason (if need be)

This thread is for:
• Christians who Just want to ask any
questions (those passing through hard
times)

• Atheists who want to voice their thoughts on
Christianity

This thread is not for:

With my years of observation as a christian. Christians are very jelous, they hate other religion but ready to call you devil if you don't like theirs. They are quick in condemning something or somebody.
They call all coicidence miracle.
They blame the devil when it don't favour them, but praise the the lord when it's favour them.
My question is why must you call people name for not believing in your religion and what make you think you religion is the highest among others.
If you talk about miracle, it is traditional worshipers and juju priest that perform miracle most.
Imagind pentecoastal condemning white garment church, winners chapel condemning jehovah withness and many other battle inside christianity.

I'll start by reaching out to Atheists, because you guys are missing out the most. How can you say there is no God/Spiritual Entity at all? But you have seen how nature is orchestrated to fall in line with itself, the endless cycles and behavioral patterns... That alone should tell you that Someone instituted these behaviors and protocols, but you all say it is just a COINCIDENCE

Let me make an example from young people (because young people speak plain truth more than us, the older ones). I'll make an example from myself, my immediate community and a young child many miles away from Nigeria

1. When we were younger, my family usually visited our paternal grandfather once in a while (as usual), but we weren't in constant connection with him and didn't know much about how he was faring.
One day my elder sister had a dream, in the dream my grandfather looked so lean and skeleton-like, and was sitting on the biggest sofa in his house. People wearing red outfits were calling on him to come join them
She told my mom and very quickly, we arranged an impromptu visit to my grandpa
Lo and behold when we arrived, he was sitting on the exact same sofa, looking like a skeleton exactly as my sister described. Very quickly also the man died.
Later we grew up to realize that the man was a member of an occult group (which explains the people in red outfits in that dream)
Dear atheists, are you saying this was a COINCIDENCE?
Let's move on

2. [I've decided to wait till I find a more publicized case]

3. This one is short. In the recent earthquake that happened in Turkey
A little child was found in the rubble 3 days after a building collapsed. When he was rescued, he was still strong and lively, moving around and not showing any signs of hunger.
He was asked if he had eaten and he replied 'yes', that a man in white cloth had been coming to give him food at regular intervals.
Okay atheists, the boy was definitely *hallucinating*, it's a COINCIDENCE

For Christians who are ready to give up. Please don't.

The days that are coming will be filled with so much tribulation, so much that many will depart from the faith, and it has already started happening now.

I take a look at India and the current persecution there. I see the news and instead of pitying them, I pity myself more...
Would I be able to keep up? With the beatings and locking up and similar things that will come? I always pray for grace, for myself and now for all of us.

"Acts Chapter 27 and 28.
Learned a lot from those two chapters. Walking by faith vs walking by sight. When everything seems to be going fine doesn’t mean God is approving it. He who wants to save his life will lose it and he who lose his life for Jesus’s sake will save it. Paul and all who were on the ship died to self by obeying God and letting no one leave (under normal circumstances, we will want to jump out in an attempt to save ourselves as some wanted to do. Especially if we can swim).
By obeying and staying on the ship, they died to self and their lives were saved. Learned that in these last days, when the storm hits and waves comes, many will run to the false preachers and fallen ones in an attempt to save their life rather than obeying God and staying in the boat."

I got this song last night and though I can't sing it here, I'll drop the words cos it's a prayer too. Try and sing it if you can. I pray you find it useful

Send down Your Fire Lord,
Oh, the Holy Ghost.
Let there be freedom,
Loose — from the enemy.

Send down Your Fire Lord,
Oh, the Holy Ghost.
Let there be freedom,
Loose — from the enemy.

We will walk, walk, walk in your path,
Oh, order our steps Lord,
Wash our heads Lord.
Let the Living Water flow in our hearts Lord.
Show us Your Grace,
Lord teach us Your Ways.

Send down Your Fire Lord...

Short message/exhortation here:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, the Power of God, the Truth, the Comforter.
We need Him now, more than ever and at times, many of us have actually offended Him and resisted Him.
Two things the Holy Spirit hates are lies and sexual immorality. We need forgiveness from these and more and we need to ask for fresh pouring of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the Water and the Fire. He washes dirt from our hearts, just as water washes a dirty foam, and purifies our hearts just as fire purifies gold.
In this coming time, we need Him to teach us the Truth in the midst of deep deception. We need Him to comfort us when persecution comes. We need Him to guide our steps and show us the Way.

Again, this message is here with regards to Christians who are willing to give up.
It's not being imposed on everyone reading this thread

I have always said it again and again that a religion will always be judged by the behaviour of its followers. Likewise the existence of God will be proved by the behaviour of those who claim to believe in God.

In the above context, religions have been a complete failure in proving to the world that God exist. The behaviour of religious followers are actually the reason why Atheist exist.

You now find yourself in a world where people who don't believe in God are more loving, more humane and more progressive than people who profess that they believe in and love God and yet all you get from them is killings, hypocrisy, discriminations etc.

Religious people should kindly leave Atheists alone and focus on expressing the love of God, which they claim to believe in, in their lives.
That to me is a more powerful evangelism that anything you can say.

I'll move to attack my fellow Christians straight up, because we are one of the most unserious, hypocritical and deceptive set of people in the world right now.
The very fact that you call yourself a 'Christian' (interpreted as: Christ-like), but you don't behave like 'Christ' shows that you are a lier.
Here are some popular misconceptions that Christians believe (the Bible proves that they are all wrong):
1. God wants you to be rich
2. God is 'all-loving', 'all-merciful' and 'all-kind'
3. Whatever you pray for will be answered
4. The world is supposed to agree with you
5. God doesn't want you to suffer
6. When you pray (and fast), you can 'control' God to do anything for you [like a remote]
7. All your enemies must 'die' (by fire)
8. God wants only Christian presidents to rule you
9. Jesus died for your sins, so you can continue to sin anyhow, and you have already be forgiven for every sin that you will commit
10. We will go to Heaven after resurrection, and where white clothes and hang around in the clouds praising God forever and ever (this one has always confused me since I was a child, I wasn't ready for that kind of 'Heaven' 😂)

Etc. etc.

100% Agreed
You didn't ask any questions in particular or specify a reason you don't believe in God

And yes, this thread is mainly for Christians who have left the faith
I have only generalized it because this is Nairaland, everyone is here

And yes again, the mere things that I say may not necessarily drag everyone reading this to Christ, I'm more interested in drawing boundaries and destroying those negative knowledge that many people have gotten without even researching or seeking authenticity of that knowledge.

Devils aka atheists can not repent because God permanently rejects and casts them out, which is why they become atheists, so leave them alone.

You are wrong here. God has been proven several times even beyond reasonable doubt.

Now again, I'm more concerned with the mindset, not with your actions

Imagine your dad flogging you everyday without telling why for 3years
And you always thought he did that because of your results or something, but you later realized the reason why he did that was because he thought you were responsible for his missing money...
That's a corrupt mindset, and that's what we seek to correct

Know the truth about God and continue in your ways
Rather than believe in false stuff and saying that's the reason you'll never believe in God

Then the word 'Religion' if I had my way I'll try to show you that Christianity is not a religion
It can be called a religion but you can never classify Christians as 'religious', that's one of the mindset stuff that I'm against

Christianity is basically, 'Love God, yourself and your neighbors', just like Christ
Then we have certain ways we are expected to react to things... And there are certain things we must suffer. That's all

But many 'churches' pump out rules and claim we must live by them, that's not general for Christians, it's their church that is 'religious'

First, it is not about me but about atheists and you are free to try opening a door which The Lord Himself has shut.

For if you were a Christian, you would know God and that He can never ever accept an atheist. You obviously don't know how hard it is to become an atheists.

And if after all the barriers a person still falls into it, such person can never ever return again.

Where in the Bible does God permanently reject and cast out atheists?
I'm curious to know...

From my knowledge, God so loved the world, not "God so loved the Christians"

God said that even you who is a true branch, do not rejoice because if you provoke Me, I will cut you off and attach someone else (an unbeliever)

What of Paul? Why didn't God 'permanently reject him'?

Again, where did God say that He permanently rejects atheists, where please?

Paul was not an atheist, it was even in love for God that he acted.

See Esau with diligence and tears could not come back Hebrews-12:17

2 Chronicles 15:2.

If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Yes and no.
Christians are people who are trying to be like Christ
They are the inhabitants of the House of God (the Children of God)

No Christian can totally forget about Christ but can a Christian leave Christ? YES!

Can a child run away from the father's house? YES!
Will he forget his father? NO!

I have seen a major problem here, you don't know the complete story of Paul and very scriptures you point out, disvalidates your points

You mean Paul punished the early Christians, locked them up behind bars and killed them because he loved God?

A child will only runaway from his fathers house when that child is incompatible with his father. Otherwise, he will always always always be with his father.

That is who a Christian is, like Moses and God, Ruth and Naomi, isaac and Abraham and probably you and your family.

But if you hate your family or you are not happy with them you must stay away from them.

If the prodigal son had loved his father, he would not live far far away from him.

It is people we hate that we stay far from and never talk to, just as God does to those who hate Him

Yes! He throught they were anti God for as his books show, he knew The Commandments (Law) too well and obviously thought that all should obey it, hence his fire and aggression in seeking its enforcement which is what the pharisees capitalized on him for.

Which is why from his answer to God, you can see it was not his intention to persecute The Lord.

But every atheists has expressed their full hatred for God. Paul did not do that and that is one of the differences.

1 Timothy 1:13
As a proud and violent man, I persecuted his people. But God gave me mercy because I did not know what I was doing. I did that before I became a believer.

You have made a point here and I've taken note and learnt from your point of view
(See I'm learning too)

But still, the other scriptures you pointed out only come out half baked.
You accept one line of a book but refuse to accept the other lines in the same book
I don't even want to run around in that circle

Have you ever heard of the Gentiles? That was the Hebrew's word for 'Unbelievers'
Do you know that they were/are the foundation of the Church?
Let me tell you how the God's Church started, Jesus said to Peter, "You are Peter, but I will call you Cephas [meaning 'Rock'], and upon you this Rock, I will build my Church.
Peter is later sent by God to start preaching to the Gentiles [the Unbelievers]"...

In your quoted scripture, God says, "If you draw near to me, I will draw near to you"
So who is God speaking about? (Since believers are already drawn near to Him)
Do you mean that if an Unbeliever draws near to God, God will reject him?
Wow! So what is the use of evangelism?
Why didn't God pack up the 12 disciples and remaining faithful believers and take them to Heaven? And destroy the rest of the Unbelievers...

(PS: In the scripture you referred to Esau and all that, did the scripture there say that God forsaked Esau forever?
Or it says that Esau sold his birthright and never got it back no matter how much he tried
Did you ever hear Esau repent to God? Instead you hear that he was angry and decided to kill his brother...
Wow! You sold your birthright to someone and later decide to kill him because he got your birthright

Now that scripture should teach you about documents in the spirit. It should teach you that once you sign a document in the spirit, the forces of Heaven, and of this earth have noted it, and it will be very hard to break such documents. For instance when you say things like, "I vow to always tell the truth, and if I ever lie, let God punish me"...)

Since the christian bible makes it clear that a good tree cannot produce rotten fruits, what should i do when all i see in christianity is rotten fruits? Wolves in sheep's clothing are the ones in churches. I can't believe in a god who tells you to read a bible but doesn't expect you to practice what is written in that same bible, and yet that bible is said to be the unchanging word of the one true god. What i hate most in my life is falsehood, yet, christians are liars and realy realy realy bloody hypocrites! I better stay away from them just for the sake of peace.

I don't believe in Yahweh for the same reason I don't believe in Allah, Ra, Kirshina, Zeus, Thor and the other thousands of gods from all tribes and localities. They are all fables and fairytales.

Why you don't believe in Allah and Gueqe?

Questions
1. Why is your own interpretation of your religious text(Bible) the right one? Who decides it?

2. When a claim of miracle is made. How do you know if is true?
E.g Yahweh helped me get a job

3. Who decides what is good or bad? E.g to steal or cause harm.

Let me know what you hold here. Question would come later. I require yes or no response.
You believe in a place called heaven/hell?
Is hell fire and torture place?
Why and who go to hell?
What is free will?
Do humans have free will?
Is Yahweh omniscient?

Check almost all the thread(including this) created by Christians to either argue, question or mock atheist. You Christians end up fighting or arguing between yourselves. And you guys wonder why an atheist doesn't agree with either of you. Lol grin

This reminds me of an incident.

In 2017, we were praying for a family of 3. The wife had a little mental challenge though she was normal to a high degree. The husband was a Muslim. Their only son was just 6 yrs old.

We never knew they had a younger boy who died as a baby.

We prayed for them, laying hands on them one by one. The boy was the last to be prayed for. After we were done, the boy started narrating the visions he saw as the prayers were going on. His vision was a narration of how his younger brother died. He was actually about 2yrs old when the incident happened. Yet, he began to tell how his mother was sitting down on a bench in their veranda in the village, holding the baby on her laps. He narrated how some people appeared from nowhere and were flogging the baby seriously with cane. How the mother became really confused and dejected seeing her healthy baby crying intermittently for no reason (the people flogging the baby were invisible). He narrated how the flogging continued until the baby died. Up till this time, his parents have never told him that he had a younger brother who died as a baby. The mother corroborated his words by saying truly, that the events that led to the death of the baby started from the time the baby began crying aloud while she was sitting with the baby on her laps at the veranda, one evening in the village. The boy went further to describe events happening within his immediate and extended family. He described people he had never heard of or met before. The father was stunned. He even understood the people the boy was describing within the family.

If you're an atheist, believe me sincerely you're gone. There are overwhelming evidences and experiences around the world contrary to your views. The spirit realm is real.

Wow! Indeed the eyes of Children see many things, though they may not understand.
This is lovely to hear, but sad that those people actually had the authority to take the younger brother's life...

The spirit realm is real.
there are things i dont know or that i am yet understand, however those things arent of god. Just anoda thing, they are not worthy of worship.

To clear up several misconceptions here.

1. Atheism is the lack of belief in a god/gods, and that's about it. Claims that everything is just "coincidence" is not the default position of atheism.

2. The question of why nature is the way it is, is something we don't yet have the answer to. If you want to claim something called a god is responsible for it, then you have to be able to prove it.

Also, i feel like it's important to point out that adding a god to the equation won't solve the problem. Because we'll still be left asking why this god is the way it is, and not literally any other way else.

I often try to avoid jumping in to try to disprove stories like this, mainly because the stories themselves, assuming they're true, don't prove any god in particular, or in general. If anything, they only open a new box of "things we don't understand yet". And also because the stories themselves are just that. Until substantiated, they can not be taken as serious proof of anything.

I'm not trying to dismiss these stories as necessarily false. But I'm also not too eager to accept any wild claim that's been reported without evidence.

Childfree:

I don't believe in Yahweh for the same reason I don't believe in Allah, Ra, Kirshina, Zeus, Thor and the other thousands of gods from all tribes and localities. They are all fables and fairytales.

Why you don't believe in Allah?

Questions
1. Why is your own interpretation of your religious text(Bible) the right one? Who decides it?

2. When a claim of miracle is made. How do you know if is true?
E.g Yahweh helped me get a job

Lol grin

I'm really thrilled seeing your observations.
I was waiting for someone to rebuke us Christians for arguing amongst ourselves.
Seriously you are on point when you say 'lol'.
Actually, these are a few things that make us unique (in both good and bad ways)
And in our Bible, the Christians back then also argued among themselves in a bid to confirm the truth.
And these are the little things that make me confirm that there is truth in this Christianity. Why do we get so much counterfeiting of our beliefs if there is no 'Original'.
Again I may not want to say much on this... Now is time to look at your questions

Before then, something I'd like to point out, I'm not the average Christian you know, and I may say many things that will make even my fellow Christians to hate me (not necessarily tho)
So first of all, who said that Thor, Krishna and Zeus and all those stuff are not true? Me? Not at all...
The sooner we come to realize that there's fire behind every smoke, the better for us.
The Bible does not expressly talk about Zeus and the rest but the Bible surely talks of the Nephilims (people that were born out of sex between Angels and humans) and they had the weirdest descriptions: insane heights/statue, six fingers and so on... That should show you that I already believe there's a component of truth in part of those 'Myths and Legends'. I also acknowledge that the devil has tried to orchestrate major lies that change the narrative of the whole story but in the end, we'll all know the truth.

Your answers (I'm calling on corrections please my fellow Christians):

1. When you talk of interpretation, do you mean by language or by understanding?
The Bible was written in foreign languages, I have come to choose certain English versions based on the model that has 66 books and stems from the King James Version (that is King James Version, Revised Standard Version, New King James Version), Berian Study Bible and New International Version. Not that these are the *approved* version or this is what God said I must read but because I haven't even finished understanding the ones I'm reading (new understanding comes when you re-read the same part of the Bible) I don't want most of the complications of adding more knowledge (especially when you haven't mastered the basics).
Then again, my understanding can never be the only true understanding. Two people can explain the same scripture of the Bible in totally different ways and the two versions will make perfect sense (oh, that's one of the uniqueness of God in the writing of the Bible especially when you come to realize that the Bible is just a collection of letters, biographies, documented history and laws, etc. that were written by several different people over the span of hundreds of years who didn't know that their work will be combined in this big Book. Of course they were influenced by the Spirit of God).
What validates my/any understanding/interpretation of the Bible is the other Books of the Bible, simple. If I say John 1:1 means this and that... I should be able to also say, "Look at the evidence here again in Genesis...". Once anyone can do that (without forcing words to flow with his/her point), voila! That interpretation has been validated.
God validates His Words through His Words
And understandings come only through God. (Ask more if you wish, I may have typed too much)

2. Okay if you check up you'll see something I said about Christians being hypocrites, a person can bribe his/her way into an office and say, "God gave me a job"
That's a problem with the Church and I don't dwell much on those type of testimonies.
However if it's just a straightforward appointment, there are many things to use and determine if God gave you the job.
One thing you'll look at is the voice of God. Did God tell you He will give you this job before you got it?
Then test the fruit, will this job help me lead more people to Christ? Will this job make me commit sin very constantly? (For instance, working in a movie company where you'll act sex scenes)... Many things add up
Or the benefit of hindsight at times will finally confirm if God actually gave you the job... When you look back and see that through that job, your spiritual life got better, you didn't need to do fraud anymore
In my case, I left a teaching job after disagreeing with the headteacher, I never reapplied there, never called any staff there or anything... But one day I prayed that God should give me money, and the next day I was called back by the school... Someone will say it was just a COINCIDENCE...
But the kind of miracles that we really love to use as example are practical things
Like healing of a serious physical illness without visiting the doctor or carrying out prescribed surgery etc... Or victory over spiritual warfare, like an age old tradition of firstborn dying in every generation, and your own firstborn developed symptoms of dying (especially at early age) but later recovers after prayers. (Again you can still ask here)

3. You believe in a place called heaven/hell?
Yes. Both. Infact I believe that there are 3heavens and that hell has sections... (Crazy right?)
Is hell fire a torture place?
Yes I believe so, I wouldn't want to find out the hard way. Infact, I believe hell is just a place to receive punishment according to the sins that you didn't repent of
Why and who go to hell?
I believe hell was created for the devil and his angels, the people who will eventually end up in hell are those that followed the devil and did the things of the devil, generally people that commit sin.
What is free will?
I don't know what I'm expected to say here. But free will is just the knowledge of good and evil, the fact that you now know what is right and what is wrong, and you can choose to do right or to do wrong.
Do humans have free will?
Yes. Obviously.
Is Yahweh omniscient?
Yes. (I'm delighted you used the name Yahweh)

I don't really think I mock Atheists in the way you are imagining, the same way you laugh at your friend before correcting Him is the same way we may laugh at you before correcting you, we 'mock' our fellow Christians too
There is teaching from God, and there is teaching of men. When we see our brother exhibiting signs of false teaching of men, we rush to correct him first, then we come out stronger to spread the Word better than ever.
Infact, I created this thread to see the specific reason why our fellow Christians brothers stopped believing in God so it's not much about the atheists, it's more about those who already had a foundation.

I've typed too much, please alert me on any grammatical mistake

Please try and research. Get informed about those things you do not understand. Do not draw hasty conclusions. It would be costly.
