@OP
I thought you would have said Itsekiri is a closer group to Yoruba than others.

The closeness of Itsekiri does not interfere with the mixture of culture and cultural adoptation of Yorubas by other regions.
PS: I'd say Binis are closer than Itsekiris.

Well, prove to me first that it was not, and while you are it, also tell me how Iro and buba came about. Most likely adapted is not good enough for me.

I provided you links its up to you to do the research, I believe in charity up to a certain point. I'm talking about Agbadas but if you like you can bring whatever else you think with distract us all from the topic of discussion the Agbada kiss
Like I said ignorance up to a certain point is not a favorable trait my friend cheesy

Aigbofa, you sef like wahala Grin
See me thinking I go come back to better arguments, logic here. Grin Grin Disappointed.

Tribalism is not much of an argument with regards to your line of attack.

If you genuinely were trying to create a thread on multiculturalism, you should have instead of trying to be sneaky with your tribalism, which was not that sneaky to begin with if it was spotted on page one kiss Really if you are going to play the tribalism game step it up, if we can all see it a mile away its pretty weak sauce grin

Well I posted the links for you to go through, prove me wrong and show that the agbada was wholly a Yoruba invention grin

Well you read it so no need to pretend, if it was speaking to you accept it and work towards improving on your shortcomings. Being ignorant and not knowing you are  ignorant is a sad thing, being ignorant and knowing you are ignorant is shameful. kiss
shirts are known worldwide, it didn't start from germany but fitted shirts are. If it doesn't originate from germany, it doesnt mean germans don't invent the fitted shirts. Now, agbada is different from whatever might have came from the arabs. Agbada is totally redefined, so is caftan, gbariye and so on so shut it!

More refined and sophisticated tah the Arab's and Hausa's. We refine them esp for our "Owambe" grin

But truthfully, what you see being worn by SE'rn Igbos are the Yoruba's refined agbada, coupled with the hat. You dont see them wearing the hausa hats either kiss

If I buy a pair of jeans and bedazzle them with jewels did I create a new outfit or modified it? That's exactly what the agbada is a modification.
Your analogy doesn't even make sense, if fitted shirts are from Germany and i decide to put an additional pocket on the shirt its still a fitted shirt that originated from Germany, I just modified it shocked Lord some of you are slow.
Someone just showed pictures of Arab outfits which are dead ringers for their Agbada counterpart, so how different are they
I think you should shut it, I bet you thought you were going to make a profound point and ended up looking silly. Next cool

The ignorance is on your part.
While you're screaming tribalism, you're sadly displaying it.
Unfortunately for you and those who wish to see tribalism in everything, this thread still goes on.

And how is that by saying that ultimately the Agbada and its derivatives are Arab attire lol wow what a stretch grin
Even though you started this thread calling out Yoruba and Igbo, if this was actually to be a multiculturalism thread, shouldn't it have said Nigerians only?
Or that you followed me into the Igbo name thread and had the boldness to say Arinze is a Yoruba name
Or the fact you have gone in every non Yoruba thread saying "Yoruba influence"
I can continue with this list if you like grin

Wow am I surprised that the best you could come up with is "You are too" prove it then, show my tribalistic tendencies in this thread or any other thread, I do await for the proof of this one, I got to see this. Because then we'll really see a real Houdini trick today shocked

Well actually you started the tribalism you we all await for you to continue with it kiss
